Compensation for lost wages in NC
#1
Hi everyone.
I live in NC and a year ago I hurt my cervical spine working at my landscaping job. And as a result I was discharged from the Army reserve it was a medical honorable discharge due to my injury. I have all of the documents to support my claims. But my question comes in now that I am at mmi I am waiting for my impairment raising but I know I can no longer work my landscaping job nor will I be able to renter the service. I know I will be compensated for wage loss for my landscaping job but will I be compensated for my military career? I had 4 more years on my contract plus my unit deployed since I’ve been injured. I don’t know the law for that in NC.

Careers can't be priced; their value is too subjective.
Wages/earnings are the basis for benefit determination.
Your future loss of ALL TYPES OF earnings may be more determinative of the long term effects of the injury then the rating. "....or inability to earn the same wages in any employment as earned at the time of injury."

You can also request vocational rehabilitation services from your employer.
