RE: ? about settlement & medical
Hey Mike, atleast in Ca, I have left my medical open for total knee replacement within 10 years, or past that. Meaning it is for life I have my knees covered. My WC adjuster happens to be really cool, and she told me straight out, that they could not afford to buy me out with closed medical, because they know from the doctors report I will need those new knees, and that cost is way more than they could afford to pay me now. But if you know you won't need any future care, then go for all the cash you can get now. Again the big question that others have asked as well, is if you can still work or not. If you can?, then 80,000 and open medical sounds pretty good. If you can't, then it's a bit low.

RE: ? about settlement & medical
After knee replacements you will need funds to pay for future medical after 8 yrs or more it is common for your knees to need a tune-up.
After 10 or more years may times a second replacement is required. This is the imformation I received from the doctor. |
