can i accept a new job, and resign from current job, while on workers comp
#1
Hi,

State of Pennsylvania,

Currently on workers compensation, but have a chance to possibly accept a new job and resign from my current job. I am currently not able to work until the 19th, but if I were to resign from my current job and start working there, would I still be able to go to my therapy sessions for my injuries (this is for a concussion)

I do not know the laws in your state. In my state once you quit a job while receiving workers compensation benefits it can affect eligibility for wage replacement, but does not affect ability to receive medical treatment. Please check this with someone who is familiar with your states laws as every state is different.
I am not an attorney.Anything I write should not be considered legal advice.I am writing from my own personal experiences, which is not from any sort of legal background. You should consult with an attorney over legal issues. In California, if you cannot get an attorney you can consult with an I&A officer.

Resigning from your current job while still on worker's compensation can have both negative and positive consequences. You might lose some of the benefits you are entitled to if you leave your employer. If you resign from your current employer while in the middle of a workman's compensation claim, you will still receive medical benefits if the doctor determines you still need treatment. Benefits vary depending on which state you live in. You can also contact an attorney if you need some more assistance. I live in France and I well aware about the lawyer Bechara Tarabay and his services. You can also find on the internet about an attorney who can help you out.
