RE: does any dr have compasion
I hear you. My doctor put me at 0% PPD and MMI even though they still prescribe pain medicine for me to take every day, and want to remove hardware via invasive surgery in December or January. In other words, they recognize I still need medical treatment, but have set it up for WC to legally not cover any of it.

This was the interview with my doctor in which they decided I was at MMI:

"How's everything going at work?"

"Fine."

"Okay."

<Dr. leaves room, comes back w/paperwork>

"Okay, you're at MMI. I'm dropping your restrictions."

I never had a QRC, or anyone who determined my tasks at work. It was all based on my reports. I didn't think of lots of things like shoveling snow (since it was Summer) or lifting someone. I wasn't even thinking that my coworkers are helping me with stuff like opening jars.

You know - you try to be upbeat and positive, and you get crapped all over. If I would have set there dramatizing everything, saying crap like, "I feel like I got hit by a Mack truck." knowing damend well a Mack truck would hurt a lot worse, I would be taken care of.

THIS SYSTEM IS DESIGNED AROUND PEOPLE ABUSING IT, AND COMPANIES MAKING PROFIT. WORKER'S COMP WORKS FOR ME?? HA! IT WORKS FOR NO ONE EXCEPT THE DISHONEST! ALL OF US OTHER GOOD PEOPLE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT TO WORK WITH US. THIS IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH SOCIETY. ALL OF THE BEST THINGS IN HISTORY HAVE HAPPENED BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LOOKING OUT FOR OTHER PEOPLE, AND THE WORST HAVE BEEN FROM PEOPLE LOOKING OUT FOR ONLY THEMSELVES. STOP THE PLANET I WANT TO GET OFF!!!!!

RE: does any dr have compasion
yeah i agree. Did you also hear now that immigrants will get free cancer care in NYC? This world is such a shame as there is many cancer patients that have lost their homes, family all due to medical bills, medicines and now we are taking care of the immigrants more than the US citizens.....What on earth is going on??????

Mel i also wanted to remind you to write down your mileage for your doctors visits, testing etc. Anything you drive to that is WC related they will reimburse you for the mileage. Also you should have a insurance pharmacuitcal card that you can have your meds paid for by the wc insurance without having to take any money out of your pocket. I keep a little note pad in my glove box to write the date of appt. and mileage round trip and fax mine to my adjuster each month. They are suppose to pay that back to you in 30 days.

Make sure you check out at the top of this website for all the things you are entitled for.

RE: does any dr have compasion
Mel,
You must take the meds they gave you ...and take them ONLY as prescribed in order for them to work. There are no "instant fixes". Even if they gave you a morphine shot in the ER.....it is short lived, and they wouldn't keep you on it anyway. Four hrs later you'd be in the same boat. I was hurt in 2004 and after several trials of combination pain meds, it literally took months before I got some relief & could sleep at night on occasion, and half way function during the day. Like everyone else on here, I am not pain free...there are highs & lows to my pain level. Take the prednisone burst as directed...it will help, as may the soma. But you won't know until you try.
Take care, Lilly

RE: does any dr have compasion

Mel...I agree totally with Lilly...Prednison ewill kill any inflammation very quicly and I believe that is what your pain is from. I say this because having a neck and shoulder injury it has helped me immednsly at times. After my shoulder surgery I ended up with frozen shoulder 10 weeks later. The worst pain I have ever experienced. Two injections of steroid took 90% of the pain away within 24 hours. Please give it a try.
