RE: someone please give me some help
Mel, I know it is hard to do, but don't get to nervus. If your injury falls in line with what you do as an employee, all should be fine. There are some people that file false claims to get medical attention that they can not get elsewhere. Provided that the company is not disputing the claim, which it sounds like they are not.( The medical attention you are receiving ). You will receive monetary benifits if you can not work. If you have work restrictions. You need to have them listed in writing from your Dr.. Do not violate the restrictions.

Mel, You responded as I was editing my response. I went back and reread what you posted and felt it proper to make corrections. The word investigate was not the right word to use. I am sorry. Please reread my first response.

Then you should be fine. It did not sound like they were disputing it.

RE: someone please give me some help
Mel, if you have restrictions that your company cannot accomodate, then yes you should be paid while you are out. I'm not sure if there is a waiting period or if it starts immediately. Hopefully someone can answer that question for you. If you are getting worried about bills, if the HR fellow is nice and helpful you might ask when you can expext to start receiving payments and they should also know how much they will be. Getting answers may depend on how nice the people are in the HR department. Try to be pleasant even if you aren't getting the answers you want, once you upset them it might be difficult to get any answers. I'm not sure if they are even allowed to answer these types of questions but it wouldn't hurt to ask, all they can do is say no. Good luck to you Smile

RE: someone please give me some help
You may also ask your HR person if you have a short term disability policy through your health insurance policy. Some companies have them for their employees as part of their health benefits packages. Some times WC injuries will not be allowed - and other times - they will but will be an offset from what you make on WC - so something to check into. I should state that is if you are going to be off at least a certain number of weeks - each policy has a minimum requirement that you will need to be off first to apply for it.
