AOL USERS - PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT EMAIL NOTICE

Due to "excessive SMTP connections from this IP" (too many emails from this system) AOL (and Compuserve - same company) are temporarily rejecting your emails notifying you of activity on subscribed threads.

As a result, we are experiencing a high level of failure notices in our email. When they bounce we have to deal with them.

If you are an AOL user, PLEASE STOP SUBSCRIBING TO THREADS, so that we do not have to disable that system.

OK...how do we not subscribe to the threads? Am I doing it? I don't know if I am???

You subscribe either by clicking "Email Notification: receive an email whenever there is a new reply. (registered users only) " when creating full reply, or the "Email Notification" box on the quick reply box. It does currently auto select, so AOL users need to uncheck that box. We've had many, many bounced emails from AOL. We will have to suspend the notification service later today if we can't get a handle on this.

There are many fine ISP's out there. AOL is not one of them.

I went to the USER CP area, and simply clicked remove from a E-Mail Notification. Just incase what ever system I'm using causes a problem. But it was that easy. Then when you reply to a post, remove the check mark from Notification's.
