Jayne started a thread asking if it was time for some of the "elders" on this board to leave. The thought that came immediately to mind was "how sad it would be if those of us who are in the midst of our w/c cases, our life crisis', our injury/health issues, etc., had no one who had 'been there, done that' to give us some 'wisdom' from their own experiences. I understand that people come and go for various reasons, and some come crawling back like I did, but if you are not led to go away, then stay! There are no age barriers and certainly there are no restrictions on who stays and who goes, that is unless Admin kicks you off for violating the rules of order.
So, with that being said, this is my "short" definition of wisdom. I hope many of you add what wisdom means to you. I cannot know everything, yet I am confidant that if I ask my questions, someone will know the answers I'm seeking. (Wisdom Is Gained Through Life Experience) Let Go, and Let God...... |

RE: How do YOU define Wisdom?
My first thought is wisdom is discernment. It shows its bright and shiny self on this board every day. Wisdom shows its many faces on this forum every day. It is enhanced through the sharing of experience and knowledge. Additionally understanding your philosphy of life which is your foundation for all rational thought is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom I believe guides our experiences though free choice and as monster said...we all have a lot of wisdom as shown in our history of choosing friends.....Thank you for the question.... Red
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: How do YOU define Wisdom?
I believe Wisdom is what we live and learn from experiance and our elders etc, and then what we pass on to our children and others.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. |

RE: How do YOU define Wisdom?
My Definition of Wisdom would be Living, Learning, Making Mistakes, and Learning from Every Mistake and not making it again! Listening and actually Hearing and accepting what Our Elders Have to give us from Their Life Travels, and Learning from their Mistakes also. I feel Wisdom is constant Learning, when We can no longer Learn, Wisdom slowly leaves and is replaced by Confusion and Anger! I've seen it happen in some People I've known, and it's a shame to See. So I continue to Learn Everyday, hoping to someday Find Wisdom, but never letting Myself or My Ego get ahead of the fact that I have to learn Everyday, to keep Wisdom by My Side!!
Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled. Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!! |

RE: How do YOU define Wisdom?
Wisdom; In my book is things we learn, and then willing to share; Also meaning, that one sometimes needs to read between the lines of wisdom, to understand how it would better fit their needs. Wisdom, is also something we learn from others, and willing to share.
Wisdom is a tool; A tool and a gift, to share wisely. One that I'm always willing to share. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. They are based on personal opinions, experience, or research and are "not to be taken as fact or legal advice", otherwise, always consult an attorney or a doctor. |
