Worried

RE: Worried
BK - It sounds to me as if they are just trying to get out of an expensive surgery. I have had meniscus surgery as well in a prior WC claim. My knee is once again bad but I don't need a knee replacement and my knee was fine until I started the heavy lifting, squatting while carrying the heavy objects etc. Please get on your sttorney and don't let them get away with this. My hips are caused from either the compensation of the way I am walking or the femur not being lined up like Red explained. Falling is definitely a precursor to hip problems I would think. You really nede surgery and it sounds like the longer they delay the worse your other body parts asre going to beome. Please set an appt up with your atty and I don't care if you have to jump down the mans throat...he needs to realize that the more you fall the more injured you become. It's not just falling either, it's the way you are walking to compensate. Sorry to rant, this just makes me so mad. I am going through the same thing but nothing nearly as bad as you are. Good luck and please let us know what he says Smile

RE: Worried
Your hips can/will go bad, if you are trying to compensate for bad knees. This happened to my mom...she had bad knee, and the altered gait resulted in a Hip replacement after the knee was replaced ( over 1/2" of bone had worn off and had worn completely through the socket). She later had to have the opposite knee done as well. The wear & tear on your joints eventually grinds the bone shorter & shorter....throwing your weight off differently to compensate....it can hurt the back, neck, hips, knees, ankles.
Take care, prayers for you! LillySmile

RE: Worried

Hi BK......Hubby has similar problems to yours. Had two knee surgeries before injuring his back. Had lumbar surgery 3 years ago. Since the back injury he has had hip problems. Has had the painful one x-rayed. Nothing. His last knee surgery he had the ACl replaced and has screws in both meniscus. All of a sudden he has started to have severe knee and hip pain. Is it coming from his back??? His knee???? His hip??? Gets all sorts of answers. He's seeing the Surgeon who last operated on his knee 10 years ago. Hasn't bothered him since until recently. Hopefully he'll get some answers. I kno whe's rolling over on his ankle because that hurts and swells occassionaly. Best of luck. Prayers are with you.

Monster.....after my first back injury in '99 I asked the PT who did my work hardening PT how long it would take my knees to go lifting over 50 pounds properly from a squat position. He didn't know. In my case it took 3 years for my right one to go. I have had a dominao affect to my body.
