I am SO happy for Punk that she can now put this behind her and go on with life. Please tell her congrats for me and I hope she will visit us occassionally

I talked to Punk today and she said she has been reading the forum but has not posted as she was having many issues and did not want to trouble us here with them, But will be back as she is not going to leave us. And she is going to meet Monster and I in Vegas. Yahhhhh it's Party time.

Good luck to her. How long did her case go on? Anyone know? Curious how long i have to wait till this thing blows over. I am already at MMI for almost 3 weeks now and not a word since.

Sparkey, I don.t remember how long Punk has been fighting over 2 years I would guess. I was placed MMI in 7/05 and agreed to settle ithis past June and still waiting, while the IC plays games.

Tuffy, how long after being placed at MMI did you get your rating appointment. I am still waiting to hear something.

Sparkey, I have never had a raiting appointment, IC after months just started making offers in amounts, They gave me a rating , but do not know where it came from, I turned down there first 2 offers and then the came back with the 3rd offer which I accepted. But that is here in Illinois. Have yet to sign final settlement papers as the IC attorneys are contesting the wording in the papers, so it is anyones guess how long this will drag out.

You know, the best part of settlement is that I now know I don't have to have anything else to do with WC or anyone else. I can now go about my life like before...with a few restrictions though!!
The bills are paid, we're mostly debt free....except for the monthly utilities, mtg, and one car payment. The best part is that with the remaining car payment we were able to pay it down and get it refinanced for a much lower rate and cut payments in half without extending the loan!!!! YaHoo!!!
There's enough for us to go on a trip...as Tuffy eluded to...and we're going to enjoy each and every minute away from the everday hassles that life has to offer these days!! LOL
The boys are also very relieved that it's all over. They felt, as did hubby and I, that WC was running our lives and making it hell!! They're pretty insightfull for being 14 1/2 and almost 12!! It's been a long, hard road for them as well.
Someone asked how long it took. Well, as with everyone else, each injury and each IC takes it's own course and they all vary on the time. For me, I was injured 10-15-05 and reached an agreement on settlement amount on 06-26-07 and received my check 09-17-07.
For those that are not there yet, I have this to say: Keep your chin up, it's hard, hard, hard and it doesn't get any easier as time goes on. Eventually though, you seem to expect whatever they dish out and accept things a little easier. Everyone's injury is different, so are their healing times and the way they heal....so it's obvious that it's going to vary from one person to the next!!! Sorry, there's no difinitive answer for anyone. I know someone that worked with me at the place where I got injured and got hurt less than a month after me and she's still battling everyone involved. We also have the same attorney! Then there's a girl that was injured about 6 months before I was, with nearly the same, identical injury and she settled only 9 months after she was injured. Same IC, same employer and such...diffferent times from beginning to end!! Good luck!!

You guys here... I love you all!! You've all helped me in so many different ways that I could never begin to make note of everyone!! Just know that I'm not going anywhere...I'll try and do better at getting on here!!! I've been really bad about it for some time and the only excuse I have is that I didn't want to burden you all with the crap that was going on before the judge ok'd the settlement!! I tell you....Nebraska sure had a lot of things that has to be done and in place before the ok a settlement!! It was hideous what all I had to go through!! LOL Luckily, I'm done though!!!
