Laurie..It was established in my treating Dr's and my supervisor's depo's that I would never be able to do my job. Too many injured body parts over the years to lift like that anymore. I am also in PA and so are a few others. I am still asking lots of questions myself. If you're asking what happens IF you employer terminates you, you can still remain on WC. WC follows you not your employer. Do you have an attorney??? There is a great PA attorney on the boards named Timothy Belt who has bee a great help to many of us. We were talking yesterday about where I am right now. Read other posts, alot of times some of your answers are right there. I would in the meantime start interviewing a couple of experienced WC attorney's. Basically what will happen if you are terminated is that when the time comes
that you are sent to work with/without restrictions you will have to look for another job. I am in the same boat as you.

Thank-you

Laurie,

Get a lawyer; a good one.

I am a school nurse in Chicago, Illinois. I fell and tore the cuff on my dominant side (left). I tried therapy for a year. Ha. I set a surgical date, had to cancel it to wait for IME and had a DVT and PE (blood clots in the leg and lung). Needless to say, surgery has been postponed for a long time. I now have over use syndrom on the right side.

During this entire ordeal my attorney has been the saving grace.

Good Luck.

Thanks for your information.
I also have tendinitis in my right arm now. I see the surgeon next week.

RE: rotator cuff surgery
I had a shoulder injury with 3 surgeries that still resulted in a permanent frozen shoulder (severe arthrofibrosis) 130+ PT sessions did nothing but aggravate it. It took 4 months for BOTH shoulders to calm down after I quit all the PT and home exercises. Overuse syndrome on my good shoulder here too. It sucks to say the least. The shoulder joint is one of the most complicated joints in the human body (and one of the most used). Prepare yourself for the surgeon to not release you when you need/want him to. Prayers for you that you are one of the lucky ones and end up "all new again" but.....chances are not good, sorry to say.
Take care & prayers for you. LillySmile

Injured worker, & tired of it all! I'm too old for games!!

A careless word may kindle strife, a cruel word may wreck a life, a timely word may level stress, and a loving word may heal and bless!

RE: rotator cuff surgery
I am so glad this came up. Not glad we all have shoulder disabilities because it is horrible. I am all of a sudden ahving trouble with my right shoulder and had no idea it has a name. "Overuse syndrome" I am changing Dr.s to a PM Dr. on the 1st and will make sure he is aware. I have a bad neck also and I thought since the PT sor the bad shoulder is tearing my neck up that's why my right shoulder is starting to hurt. I guess it's from only using the good one for over a year. Best to all,

I don't think I will ever be able to do the job I was doing. As soon as I start using my arms a lot, the pain at night is unbearable. I don't think he will release me either. Thanks for your support.

Laurie..when I use either arm too much it tears my neck up. I can't hold a newspaper, carry anything, type, fold laundry, vacuum, etc. for more than 5-10 minutes before either my shoulder or neck acts up. I guess I aquired a habit of scrunching my neck for so long along with the damage in my neck that there has never been any time to heal.
