In Case Of Emergency.............
I thought this was a great idea and plan on doing it myself.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Many people carry mobile phones with hundreds of names/numbers stored in Its memory but yet nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these Numbers belong to our near and dear ones.

In case we are involved in an accident or had a heart attack and the
People attending us get hold of our mobile phone but don't know which Number to call to inform our family members. Yes, there are many numbers Stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency?

For This reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored under the Name I.C.E. (In case of Emergency) in our mobile phones. Recently, the Concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is simple, an important Method of contact during emergency situations.

As cell phones are Carried by majority of the population, just store the number of a Contact person or person who should be contacted during emergency as ICE (meaning In Case of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic (Bob Brotchie) who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents. There were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know Which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea If there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.

Following a disaster in London, the East Anglican Ambulance Service has Launched a national 'In case of Emergency (ICE)' campaign. In an
Emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff
Would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply
Dialing the number stored as 'ICE'.

It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A Great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile phones today!

Let Go, and Let God......

Chris that is very good information. Never really thought about it before, but you are right, if one of my kids was in an accident I would want the paramedics to have easy access to my number..right away..thank you...I am going to call my kids ...well I guess I will call them in the morning..it is almost midnight here...love Red

RE: In Case Of Emergency.............
I think driller has our number in the phone book under home ......... no name - just home in his book so if anything was to happen they would see that number and call home over other numbers - this is because I do not carry a cell phone .....

RE: In Case Of Emergency.............
Chris
That is a very good idea. Several years ago, when my daughter was still at home, I lost my cell phone at a nascar race. The person who found it called the home number from the phone and scared my daughter to death because he told her he found my phone and didn't know who I was.

For people who don't carry cell phones, they can do the same thing on a piece of paper and put it with there driver's license with a paper clip.

Good idea thanks
Vickie

RE: In Case Of Emergency.............
Chris....Thank you this is something we all should do....

My son was in an accident and the EMT's were able to find Mom and Dad on his cell phone and call us...but if everyone was to use the same ICE it sure would help the police or EMT's. Will pass this information on. Thanks again.
