RE: Trembling legs.
Vickie: Here's a good site which explains different types of tremors: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/tremor.html but by all means, talk this over with your doctor. I find it helps to write down questions ahead of your dr. appt. and when the dr. comes into the exam room, hand him your questions. Most drs. appreciate this from their patients.

I have essential tremors in my hands, also known as "movement disorder" and for me, they are caused from RSD.

Tremors can occur for many reasons. The tremors themselves are usually harmless but could be embarrassing. Anyway, the medline site has lots of info.

Take care!

AQA:
No I don't take Neurontin. I did years ago, but not know. I take an anti-depressant Cymbalta and an anti-siezure med Klonopin for the bad muscle cramps/spasms (done went thru most muscle relaxers, thats why these two are now used, they do help), and the NSAID Indoncin SR for the pain and inflammation.

ChrisChris:
Thanks for the info I'll check out that site. I have been having internet connections problems today, but I'll look at it later.

Thanks for you input.

RE: Trembling legs.
I wanted to thank everyone that has responded on this site, this has been a very informative thread.

Vickinat have many of the same problems and I am in the learning stage, I have S1 nerve radiculpothy with all the symptoms, numbness, weakness, heavy weighted feeling, and the electric shocks.

I started complaining about these symptoms to my treating wc doctor and he refused to check out my back saying I only had problems because of my knees and when they were treated I back would improve as I need bilateral knee replacements,
this was 11/06. (My health insurance is paying for treatment for my back.)

This summer I had 6 wks of physical therapy with no improvement, earlier this month I had my first epidural and on the 25th I will have my second epidural. I feel the epidurals are working, I still have the symptoms of leg/nerve pain although, and I can be on my feet for a longer period of time before the symptoms start. (I do hope this improvement is pernament.)

Didn't mean to still this thread.

RE: Trembling legs.
Hey vickinat, I had surgery in June for a herniated L4-L5, and I also have bulging L5-S1 & L3-L4. My legs will shake like that in therapy or if I have walked a lot. It's usually my "good leg" that does the shaking and occasionally my "bad leg". My therapist says that the muscles just get tired and will shake like that. I agree with her. I can remember lifting weights in school and my arms would do that towards the end. I guess our legs just aren't used to all of this excersize now. I know I have lost a lot of muscle tone in the last few months.
Best of luck!

RE: Trembling legs.
Thank you all that responded, and Bummer you didn't steal the thread, I'm glad that I'm not going nuts, thinking I'm the only one this happens too.

To me it just wierd that it is happening now, I have been in therapy since Dec,06 with 1 month between Feb & March,07 that I wasn't in it. This second stage has been constant since March,07, 3x's/week. Aqua therapy from July,07. Plus I do daily exercises at home that the therapist gave me back in Feb,07.

I would think my muscles should be used to everything by now, plus Iv'e been working sedentary light duty, but I get up and move around alot.

Thanks again.
Vickie
