RE: Snowbear & family need our prayers
Hi all, I understand about your need to have a pity party. I have have kinda sorta been on one myself and have not felt really good about any posting or anything that I am doing right now. I have a lot of the same issues and yet many of my health issues are different. I always say I don't have pain well for some reason that has changed greatly in the past couple of mouths. There have been so many changes that I have begun to do what I always say I will not do and that is ask why me...but you know what then it always comes back to why not me, did I want someone else to experience this, and the answer is always no...so then I go about my business. However, this is different for I have never been betrayed by a company or a business such as you all have experienced as my husband has experienced and that is emotional horrible. To feel betrayed and not cared for, we wonder how do people go to sleep at night that have any part of this system. THere is no money in the world that can take the pain away when you feel you have been betrayed. Betrayal of a country is the worse offense yet. You will be excuted for this, yet when an organization does it, it is not even frowned on. How can this be? How can it be that people are asked to give their best for 20 years and then due to an accident just ignored and treated like criminals. That is the question that I ponder all the time. And i do not believe no matter how much a reflect on that question, that anyone will find an answer that fits everyones situation. The only answer I have is "it just is." Sad but so true.

Cap and Jayne I am so sorry that you are in pain due to an unfortunate accident that happened in your life, but I am even more sorry that our country allows the IW to be treated as you have been treated. Cap I am so sorry that you have been made to feel like this....we are here for you. Red

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

RE: Snowbear & family need our prayers
Snowbear...I must of missed the post where you had updated us that your sister had a stroke....I am so sorry. But I do what to say...I had a co-worker that had a massive stoke she was about 34 years old...her story sounds so much like your sisters....I just have to tell you after about 4 months of speech and physical therapy she had very little side effects left from the stroke. I also worked with many elderly that also had strokes...(have to remember they were 80 and90 years old) but so many of them came back so well it was amazing....I always loved to watch them work hard to get back what they lost....so it is very important she gets the best of the theapist out there.

Also wanted to mention the medication...you said she is taking coumindin. This is a very important drug for her to take...but it also has some things to be aware of....make sure they are doing blood labs to check the levels of the coumindin...also there in some foods she is not to eat while on the coumindin. It is a blood thinner...so she wants to be careful to cut of injury herself...and know how to control the bleeding if something does happen. Do not let them miss drawing a lab...for a coumindin level. I know Red and Tuffy would know alot more about the drug...but I just know it is one you don't want to be missing a dose...or be having the levels out of range. My husbands Dad took it and had lots of issues...but all because someone wasn't following Dr's orders...and your sister has already fought for her life....and is on the mend..she doesnt need any troubles with the medications. You could probabley get on line and really learn about the foods you can eat while taking coumindin. Tuffy and RED correct me if I am on the wrong track......

RE: Snowbear & family need our prayers
Thank you Spring!!! You are sooo uplifting...thank you for being you!!!! Yep, you're right about the food...something about not eating broccolli (I think was one of the foods). Until the coumidin is at the right level they're checking her blood every other day. They also weigh her every morning to watch for any weight gain or loss. My sister is 5 years older than me but we always tell people she's my "little" sister cuz she's smaller than me (alot smaller than me after all the weight I've gained since getting hurt..ugh). She has been my rock for so many years... this really helped me to realize what is truly important in life..God, family, and friends. She has come along way and is a 103 lb. fighter!!!! Thank you again Spring for your kind words..you have such a tender heart. I've been such an emotional wreck fighting depression that my mom hated to call me about my sister being life-flighted. I felt so bad for my mom... a parent isn't suppose to see their child fighting for their life. It was really hard seeing my mom fall to pieces because she's been the "matriarch" (the glue) of our family. But all is good cuz God is soooo good!!!!

Always love your cubs unconditionally...they are a gift from God and someday they'll pick your nursing home!!
