A few Questions
#1
Hello, Hurt and lost part of my little finger on my left hand, did this at work and it is a WC case. It has been a little over a year ( June 1 last year is when this happened ) since this has happened, the doctor I am going to wanted to take the finger tip off the first month this happened and I said no, I waited it out for 10 months then it sorta fell off on its own( That was a long wait, if had to do over again I would let the doctor amputate ) Now I am having troubles with it, burning, stinging, swollen and having a hard time moving it. Have been going to therapy the last 3 months for it 3 times a week, really not doing much better. They tell me I have RSM in it, anyone really know or have this ? Anyway I would like to know if me going to therapy should be done on my own time or company time, I have been going on my own time all along, WC is paying for therapy but what about my gas and vehicle? I'am in PA. Also I've been working this whole time, doctor has me on light duty. This finger bothers me more now then when I first hurt it. Any suggestions on trying to get it back to the way it was?

comp does not pay leave time; only disability.
request a second opinion/consultation from a hand specialist.

I assume you meant RND ( reflex neurovascular dystrophy) They now call that CRPS
Complex regional Pain syndrome) here's a link read up on it.

Hopefully you don't have this disease. I would be looking for a second opinion, probably through pain management

I have CRPS. I can tell you it is a pain like no other.

I am in the care of a pain management doctor right now, we just started on a program to put it into remission, so I have no feed back yet. I suggest you see a pain management doctor yourself, there is no cure, and it gets worse over time.

I feel for you, this is a long road, and you will be fighting the whole way. I also recommend you get an attorney to represent you, there is no way that you can handle this on your own

Most employers have a leave program that handles lost time for medical apts, sick leave, death, vacation, etc.
These leave programs are separate from workers compensation.
Workers comp insurance carriers do not pay for these; comp is for disability only.

The physical therapy really seems to be doing nothing, they have me put my hand in a whirlpool for 15 min each time then they do some kind of massage all over my body, its weird they just sort of shake me all overe, really don't do much with the bad finger. The finger still isn't good, it swells up on me and starts burning , stinging and sore, its gets cold real fast. Almost seems like the pain is spreading up the figer also toward my wrist.

they can get a couple thousand out of the carrier before they catch on.
sometimes a neuroma forms at the injury site; talk to your doctor or get a second opinion.
