9/11 TRIBUTE

RE: 9/11 TRIBUTE
I remember getting ready for work and when I got there (the police dept) our Chief wouldn't let any of us watch his TV set...I called my husband he was working near sears tower at the time, and he didn't even know about it...that day we instituted terrorist checks in the village..How we have had to readjust our lives since this tragedy...and still are...it is a disgrace how our system has forgotten these hero's truly, what they all had risked, but they know in their hearts, and would do it again in a heartbeat...

RE: 9/11 TRIBUTE
I saw on the news the reruns of the plane hitting the first tower. I think at that point they did not know it was terrorism. On my way to work I finally heard the news...I cried all morning for those who lost their lives while trying to replace radiators and do my job.

I can't thank you guys enough for posting this. It started Sunday for me...I watched Dicovery channel most of the day and they were all shows regarding 911. Thank you to all those who came to the aid of the injured and dying and thank you to all who are serving in the military both past and present to keep our great country not only safe but free.

God Bless out great country and the men and women who fight to keep it free and those of us who call her our home...

you say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news, Sept 11, 2001 Neither will I
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called to his wife to say "Good-bye" I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK, I am ready to go."

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd fl when a woman cried out to me for help. " I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!" I said. "Of course I will show you the way home-only believe on Me now."

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devasted sould. I took him home to tend to his flock in heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there. Comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name, though they did NOT all know me. Some met me for the first time on the 100th fl. Some sought me out in their last breath. Some couldn't hear me calling to them throughout the smoke and flames, "Come to me...this way..take my hand." Some chose, for the final time, to ignore me, but I was there.

I did not place you in the tower that day-you may not know why, But I DO. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for ME? September 11, 2001 was the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek ME now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are "ready to go." I will be in the stairwell of your final moment.

GOD

That was the most beautiful thing I have ever read. I was in A tiny little village in England called Dunkeswell. Dunkeswell is the airfield that the American Navy used during WWII for bombing flights over to Germany. Joe Kennedy flew out of there. And died. On the day of the World Trade Centre I was just back from the airfield and my daughter turned on the telly. The first building had just been struck. We were devestated. Watched all day and all night and cried. I had friends from London who worked there and were never heard from again. A local man who was a pastor was there and never came back. The following Sunday we went to Chapal and a Hymn was played. It was called "Be Still, For The Presence of the Lord. I used to have the words, but lost them in the move from England. I am searching for them and can't find them anywhere. But that hymn says it all. He, is indeed, everywhere, with everyone, in every situation.
We just need to be still........and feel His presence and hear Him.

Crabby, thank you for Met In The Stairwell. That is so beautiful and I had never heard it before. I think we do sometimes forget that God is with us at all times.

RE: 9/11 TRIBUTE
My sister's husband worked for the United Nations as a member of the US Special Forces, he was out of the country on assignment on 9/11.
It was several weeks after 9/11 before we knew where he was and if he was okay.

My prayers today goes to the 9/11 victims, families, and everyone thouched by 9/11.

RE: 9/11 TRIBUTE
when I read it, all I could do is cry, along with tuffy site.I couldn't get it over to this site, so I typed it for everyone...excuse any mistakes there may be, I know sometimes I forget too that he is always here with us, and I have to remember that if I truly give myself unto him, I will be alright....(sometimes it's hard to believe) but we must and know there is a purpose to all this, and that he will protect and take care of all of us...I'm sorry I'm blabbing on...I sat in fear today, awaiting some other tragedy to happen at the hands of that fanatic.....I surely hope they catch him soon ....That I pray for also...

RE: 9/11 TRIBUTE
I know this may sound harsh or uncaring but I don't believe we can sit around and wait for the next tragedy. We all need to remember what those SOB's did, but we all have to live our lives and show them they cannot control us through fear. If money would have allowed I would have taken a flight somewhere today just to show the a$$holes that they can't intimidate us through fear...especially not fear of a coward who would attack unprovoked like they did. I am sure that flights are way down today as theyhave been for the last five years and that's exactly what they like...to think they have won a small battle in a big war, when they have proven nothing except what cowards they are...
