RE: TTD to Permanent Total
Hi Sithie....I was put at MMI last year and have been on TTD since. I just recently noticed the Permanent total on my check. I haven't been to MD or sent for any testing/exams. I was offered settlement....maybe thats why.

RE: TTD to Permanent Total
I WOULD CHECK WITH MY LAWYER IF I WERE YOU,IF YOU HAVE ONE...IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT THEY MAY BE TRYING TO SNEAK SOMETHING PAST YOU,MAYBE THEIR USING THAT PERMANENT TOTAL PAYMENT AS A SETTLEMENT PAYMENT BEING THAT YOU WERE FOUND TO BE AT MMI.....PLEASE BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!

RE: TTD to Permanent Total
Lilly, Please check with your Attorney on this to make sure I am correct, but if your check reads PTD and not TPD, then the i/c for your Employer has deemed you Permanently Disabled! That's very very Hard to get an i/c to do, and that's a Good Thing! That means your Battles are over, and they are either going to continue to pay you as they are now, or they are going to try and settle. If you are not on SSDI, I would strongly suggest you apply, and if you are approved, at settlement time make sure they follow the Law and have a Medicare Set-aside calculated and put in your settlement for you. But that's a good way off, My suggestion would be to check with your Attorney to see if what I said above is correct, that's the first Step, and I Hope I am!!!Smile

Smile
temporary total means the disability is for a limited time; generally during a recovery period.
Shy
permanent total means the disability is also total but the impairment is likely to remain unchanged

RE: TTD to Permanent Total
Hi again all.
My check used to say "TTD"
Now it states "Permanent Total" (not PT, or PTD ,but printed out in two words only)

RE: TTD to Permanent Total
Then consider Yourself a Winner!! The i/c has deemed you Permanent Totally Disabled, and that's very rare! I'm sorry for your injuries, don't get me wrong Lilly, but as far as the system goes, you are going to get the Best Possible Outcome. I'm very Happy for You, now it's up to you and your Attorney to make sure you get the Best!! Congratulations!!Wink

i disagree and hopefully you don't mean it that way

being totally disabled for life is not a winner.

comp claimants celebrating like lottery winners does not help the public perception that it's made up of a bunch of frauds and cheats.

Limbo: I think/hope you just want to recognize that lilly got the benefits she's entitled too.
Be careful - it doesn't always come off to others that way.

RE: TTD to Permanent Total
I understand 1171 and I would Hope by now you would know me Better than that, look at my Signature below, I'm totally Disabled and know the Pain, I'm just Happy to see someone get what they deserve for once, instead of losing to the fine print or the Unethical IME Report. So to clarify so Everyone on Both Sides understands, (I said this once in my original Post): Lilly, I am very Happy to see you have received what you deserve, and I understand clearly this is not a Lottery, and You are disabled, and I would wish that on no one. I am just Happy to see the system actually work for you, and you will receive the Care you rightfully Deserve, and you will be able to go on with your Life without having to continue and Fight for your Care. I wish, as I believe everyone Here Does is that some Day you are Better, That would be the ultimate Win!! I wish you the Very Best Lilly, and if my Happiness for this Injured Worker was taken the wrong way by anyone else on this Board (EITHER) Side, I Humbly Apologize!!!Wink
