RE: Just assigned a Nurse Case Manager...what do I need to know?
I just got a call from the WC person at my work. The 2nd MRI has been approved, but I have to have it at the hospital I work at and not the OS' office. When I reminded her the PA had wanted it there, as I thought maybe she had forgotten, I got my head bitten off. I understand it's a money racket and they would rather do it themselves than let the insurance pay someone else to do it. Anyways, it's this Thursday morning.

I also asked about coming back to work, as she was going to hang up without mentioning it. She hissed, "Absolutely not! Those restrictions are ridiculous! We do not have any sedentary work here." So it doesn't look like I am going to get to go back to work on light duty.

You are correct... Insurance companies don't have a blank check treatment so to speak.... That is why your hospital is going to do it and not get hit with a charge.. Where is my case the dr i seen charges $2500 for MRI , and the place they sent only charges $750.... Not sure if difference in quality ( doubt it ) but that is the workers comp. world..

Hopefully the MRI will give them a treatment solution..
