RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
I installed a new browser, hope this fixes this problem.
Yea, looks like it did, now to post to this thread. Last week I started physical therapy for the cervical spine, and shoulders. My goal is to reduce the pain levels before starting the hand surgerys. An mri was done last Spring of the cervical spine showing problems with the disc above the fusion and showing arthiritis has developed along the cervical spine. The physical therapist says she can feel the arthiritis in the neck along the spine when working with me. Her comment floored me I did not know a PT ot OT could feel arthiritis. She also told me it is as if a type of arthiritis is attacking my joints. I have osteoarthiritis which is wear and tear arthiritis. Although what is showing up with my joints is more than osteo. Recommendations are being made to be seen by a doctor who specializes in arthiritis. What the therapist makes sense as a lot of something is very much going on. Anyone have any experience with anything related to arthiritis. |

RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
Bummer my cervical spine is full of arthritis also, I just saw a Dr. this past monday for my cervical. My attorney filed for an increase of percent of impairment, and the state WC send me to a Dr, for a new rateing on my cervical injury. While I was in that 3 minute exam and no I am not exagerarting (if spelled correctly LOL) it lasted a grand total of 3 minutes. My wife was with me and I asked her to time me before I went into the exam room. Any ways while I was in there he said that were looking to add arthritis to my claim for a partaicular disc level. I did not know going in that was being considered. I do already have arthirits as part of my claim but did not know this was being part of the exam on Monday. We all know how those IME'S go.

RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
Hello - I was told that I also have 'arthritis' of the spine in my lower back. Are there different types? Thanks in advance.

RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
As most are aware of, the most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis. But whan it comes to the spine, you can also get spinal stenosis which is also a form of arthritis, as well as rheumatoid arthritis.
Here is a good site that explains some differences http://www.spinepainbegone.com/types-of-...ritis.aspx Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
The therapist is making the recommendations that I see a doctor who treats rheumatoid arthritis, not for sure what this type of doctor is called.
A correction to my first post, The therapist says she can hear the arthiritis in the cervical spine, the cracking, not feel the arthritis in the cervical spine. |

RE: Differents Types of Arthiritis
Just a piece of information on Rheumatoid arthritis. My friend Debbie found out she had this type of arthritis early, like in her late 30's early 40's. It took a while for doctor's to figure out what it was because her hands and feet didn't look the part as a lot of people's gnarl up. Anyways, after many doctor's she found a rheumatoid doctor who treated her with chemotherapy pills. YES, once a week she has to take 5 chemo pills, she has been doing this for years, it is/was to help slow the progression down (I think) She felt like junk the entire day of taking the pills and for the 1st half of the day after. But she is gosh, in her late 50's now and still working and moving good!
Weird treatments for somethings! Live, Laugh, Love ~ |
