RME
Hi everyone. Its me from Tx.Want to tell everyone thanks again for all replies and advice everyone has giving me on this board.I am very grateful.I have my RME scheduled tomorrow as was wondering if someone could tell me what to expect?Wil I have to do painful physical therapy exercises?Any info would be great.I am just very nervous.I dont expect the outcome to go well due to its the insurance companies doctor performing the exam that has a reputation for stopping benefits no matter how bad you are injured.

RE: RME
I just had one back in Feb. First thing is be honest, completely honest. He is looking for inconsistencies in your story. Don't hold back with regard to your injuries. Tell him everything. Tell him each and every complaint that you have. Start from the top of your head and work down. Do not minimize or down-play anything, that is the doctors job to minimize your injuries. Tell him how your injuries affect the quality of your life if that is the case. Tell him what you can and cannot do. Tell him if you can't do household chores or if you dropped out of local bowling league as an example. Tell him about any and all meds you are on. Don't be afraid to sound like a COMPLAINER.
He will examine your injured area. You are not required to do any exercises ( I wasn't anyway). If they ask you to do something tell them you can't. Be on time. Be polite. If a highly unusual test is proposed, you can say no to that. The doctor will be friendly but his written report will be businesslike and it can hurt you. Work with him but keep in mind it is his job to find not HOW MUCH but HOW LITTLE you are hurt. Always pay attention to what is going on in the exam. Assume you will be watched the second you pull in the parking lot until you leave. When you leave write down notes and give them to your lawyer. What happens in this exam could be used at a future trial. Good luck. By the way, my exam lasted around five minutes. |

RE: RME
Thank you for your help.I feel much better just having an idea of what to expect.I hope my exam is that short.I was expecting a minimum of 4 hours of painful exercises and interrogation.Definitely relieved after hearing from you.I appreciate it!

Haven't heard from the case manager since the day she called to inform me she was the case manager. My next appt isn't until July 25th. And no help from the injections, I suppose on the next visit they will schedule another injection? I asked him the last time I was there what did we do if the injections didn't work and he said surgery was the only other option.. I wonder with me having degenerative disc disease what surgery that would do? I assume a fusion, since my first dr said I already had ddd and the injury is what had flared it up? I just want it all to be behind me.. SO frustrating living day to day with back pain. Walking all hunched over, hobbling along. When you go to the store people look at you like wtf is wrong with you.. No job, and first dr told me to hang up ever having a job doing what i love to do which is manual labor of working on diesel trucks... Just a messed up situation. But let me know how your process goes and I too will post what I find out on my next visit. I just hope this case manager doesn't "ruin" my treatment! |

Congrats, I am glad it went well for you. I hope my first post was able to help you and put your mind at ease. I have been on comp since Oct. 2010 and I hate everything about it. At times, I feel like a prisoner in my own home. That's another story. |

RE: RME
What is the turn around before you get a copy of the findings??? I do not recall.
Also I don't think you mentioned the drs. name. I recall when I had mine that what the dr. said was not what was in the report. I don't want to get you upset or you to start worrying about it. However; hope for the best, but plan for the worse. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |

RE: RME
They told me it would be about two weeks to get a copy of the report.I have started second guessing about how well it went.It was almost too good to be true.I am afraid to get my hopes up.I hope I dont get burned.
