New job, already promoted
Hi All,

I started a new job the day after Memorial Day, 4 days of training, tomorrow will be the second week I've actually been on the job and today I was promoted.

It's not a big job, doesn't pay well, it's at a convenience store that's also a small grocery store. But a promotion already? I was shocked and then I asked why me. It's because I don't say no, I do the jobs, I want to learn and with my surgical experience I have an eye for detail and I care.

I won't get a raise until my probation is up at 90 days. But I'm sure I'll get a big one when it does happen. I'll be basically in charge of the gas pumps and stocking the refrigerators. I'll also be the chief person training new people for that position. I'll be the one to decide if they keep that job or are moved to another one. I'll be the one to certify the people for that job.

On my application for the job I put down that I was a lead trainer. During my interview I spoke about that, they liked that. I was told that I could move up into management very quickly. I also was told that during training when I got 100% on every exam.

It's a job, it's not in the field that I went to college for but they like me and it was a big boost for my ego today to see how much the management appreciates me. To be noticed like that in 13 days...I must be doing something right.

God has a reason
