NY schedule loss of use
I am new to this forum and not really sure whether an SLU award will preclude me from getting further comp payments in the future.

I suffered an accident, and my doc stated that I have a 40% loss of use of a leg. I have been unable to work since my accident and likely won't be able to ever work as a mover ever again. will probably need crutches as long as I live. I am not sure whether an SLU is in my best interest. If I get 40 percent of 288 weeks, does that mean that that is all I get? What about me not being able to work in future years? How would I be able to live off of 108 weeks of pay? Sorry if the question is dumb, but I am pretty desperate here and don't want to make the wrong decision. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i missed the title while reading the post.

New York has 2 permanent impairment options; loss of use is one the other is for wage loss.
