Final workers comp check delay?
I'm from NY and my employer goes through The Hartford for Workers Compensation. I have returned to work, and they have yet to send my final check. I spoke to my case worker two weeks ago to let her know that I'd be returning to work. I also submitted all of the correct paperwork. She said that she had to call my employer first for information before she submits the paperwork (which wasn't the case for ) she FINALLY called my employer this past Monday, and apparently she just asked if I was back to work.
The main thing I'm concerned with is that my first check came about four days after I filed my claim, and the checks came every two weeks following, right on time. With this check however, there is a huge delay. I've tried contacting her every day for this week, but I haven't heard anything at all. Is there a way to check the status of everything? I tried The Hartford's website, but I can't seem to find anything on there. |

RE: Final workers comp check delay?
not every insurance carrier or state system has online access.
you might have your employer contact them; the employer is the policyholder and has more "clout" then you. |

RE: Final workers comp check delay?
I finally got to speak to her today. She said there's a delay because she has to "talk to her manager"... Apparently, they overpaid me, and they have to go over all of the initial paperwork filed before they can do anything else. It's very odd that they figured out they overpaid me on my final comp check.
If in fact, they did overpay me, will I have to owe them anything? If so, should I get a lawyer? |
