:(Part of my report explains that I have a severe injury and furture surgery would probably be needed in the future on 3 different body parts; and I'm P&S for RATING PURPOSE.
Exactly what does that mean P&S for RATING PURPOSE? Thanks & Hello |

RE: P&S for RATING
you did not post your state but I will assume you are under california work comp rules.
one of the comp benefits is disability payments for those that are left with permanent impairment. the duration of these additional payments is in proportion to the level of impairment. the extent of permanent disability is measured by an impairment rating expressed as a percentage- with 100% being total impairment and unable to work any job and 0% meaning no ratable disability. the point at which a rating can be done is defined as the point at which the patient has reached maximum medical improvement or who's condition is relatively permanent and stationary. it's also the point at which TTD payments end and permanent disabilty payments begin. a glossary for basic terms is here: http://www.dir.ca.gov/DWC/WCGlossary.htm |
