She had eye surgery earlier this week, a very painful procedure.

I received a message from her a few minutes ago and she is headed to Wichita to see an eye specialist due to problems she is having with the eye.

Please everyone stop and say a prayer for her.

Thank you for your prayers, yesterday I needed them for sure.

The bandaid contact lens that was put on my left eye after surgery had adhered to the cornea causing severe pain, watering, light sensitivity beyond what I've ever had before. Outside with 2 sunglasses on still blind, had to close both eyes, lead around like a blind person it was awful.

I saw the eye doctor, he almost instantly saw what was wrong after numbing my eye. He removed the contact lens, cleaned my eye and put on a new contact lens that was coated with medication to promote healing and control pain. I wish I could say that it helped last night but that would be a lie, it was better. Spent the entire night with a back light on only and sunglasses over my glasses. I was told that I was able to use lubricating drops in my left eye to help prevent the lens from adhering to the cornea again.

See from the first moment I read the post-operative instructions which told me what drops I could use and for how long I was afraid of this happening. I have dry eye, severe, it's part of the disease which causes the ridges in my cornea. No lubricating drops until the contact lens is removed. The antibiotic drops plus the steroid drops can both cause the cornea to dry horribly out and it did.

Today it is better, vision isn't good but it is getting better. I'm told by Thursday that it should be pretty close to normal. Light sensitivity is better, pain is somewhat better. See this is the pain that I expected after surgery because I had it after the first one. But it is better and that's a blessing.

This coming Thursday I have a job interview at a major hospital for a much desired position. I believe that God pushed up my surgery by a month so that I would get the call the very next day after surgery for an interview. I want this job, it pays well, it's in my field but I hope and pray that I can see. If I'm given a vision check right now they'd kick me out the door with my glasses on. Still considered legally blind in the left eye due to cornea swelling. It needs to go down 100% to pass even with my glasses on.

In just over five weeks I can get new lenses for my glasses, I'm going to enjoy that, I have $500. plus dollars burning a hole in my pocket and that's with discounts. I am so very, very grateful that medical science has kept up with my horrible eyes but I just wish it didn't hurt so much pocket book wise in dishing out the money. I've checked around for lesser costing lenses of the same quality but they all cost the same. I just want to see so I guess it's worth the expense. It will help us meet our medical deductible on our taxes.

BB I am so sorry you were/are in so much pain.I hate pain and consider my self a big girl when it comes to pain in my own body,but simply cannot watch it in others I love.
