RE: ssdi question
Make sure they (SSA) has any and all current information on payments you are receiving from WC. (if you are still receiving PPD/TTD) SSA got mine all messed up(how I don't know, they had the correct paperwork) and it took them 4 months to straighten it out and pay me the difference in my back pay. this month will be my 1st month of actually getting my correct amount of SSD.
My information came from my doctor's that took care of my hand's, nothing from my PCP. I also had my psychiatrist's information. I guess it is easier if one doctor wrote one report based on all the doctor's report's, but hey, if each of your doctor's are saying you are disabled, what more do they need? The requirements for being disabled under SSA are not neccesarily what we would imagine them to be. They look at your injuries and the "reasonable expectation" of you finding a job in the current job market, with some other factors in there. When I read my approval decision letter, that is basically what it said. Now of course SSA's"reasonable expectation" is different for everyone based on injury. Mine happens to be both of my hands! ![]() But I would imagine with all you have been through.....you've been through enough! good luck!

RE: ssdi question
Well it is over, buterflies have left my stomach and I dont know why at my age i still get them....lol...
It went smoother than I thought it would, except for a few hickups in 2 of my drs adresses.. The ssa gal was very polite and social, she had asked about my mva in 2007 and asked what happened and what has been done to correct my injuries... After I explained she didnt have many more questions except for the wc information... I dont know if its good or bad...? But I guess my fate is in thier hands... She kept trying to fit me in on the ssi, but my wifes income is to high...... For some reason she was pushy twords it.. |

RE: ssdi question
I made too much as we'll. I had to ask to apply. It's a intimidating process but worth it in the end.

RE: ssdi question
Bronco it is mandatory the intake worker does intake for SSI at the same time the intake is being done for SSDI. As Jayne said you could qualify for additional money.
At the time I applied for SSDI I told the Intake Worker I did not want to file for SSI because my household's income would not meet the income qualification guidelines. The worker documented that I requested not to apply for SSI. Course guidelines change and that was 2007. Bronco look at the Social Security Blue Book for Adult Listings and you will get a feel for the medical conditions that meet the qualification guidelines. http://www.ssa.gov/disability/profession...stings.htm |
