RE: Cervical spine
It sounds like the three of us have the dizzy spells with the cervical issues.

But what causes the dizzy spells?

RE: Cervical spine
your spine has only so much room to send all those nerves and such thru to the rest of the body...our cervical area is no longer stable it moves and puts pressure on nerves it shouldnt....Bummer I quit driving long distances years ago because of it.I will travel the few miles to town on a good day if Bill or Becca isnt around to drive me but I would rather not because I know if I turn my neck just so I go swimming in my head....and I never back up a car that is asking for trouble to twist and turn my neck to back up.....I will get out and ask someone to back my rig up....thank God we live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and I dont worry about asking anyone to get in my rig and backing it up for me...lol...the sackers at the store know part of their take out duty is backing up my truck.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Cervical spine
Jayne this makes to much sense........this started when I turned my head while pulling a shirt over my head Saturday morning.

I am use to being free and and independent.......not use to being grounded.

RE: Cervical spine
it doesnt have to ground you.you just have to do things a bit different.I park where I can pull thru if at all possiable,if not I always ask them to back up my rig...

RE: Cervical spine
The reason I grounded myself was because of being dizzy.......which was all the time for about 4 days.

I am doing better now, got out yesterday and did some chores that needed done, went into town.

I made notes for the doctor appointment tomorrow.......at this point I am just trying to understand what is going on......make sense of things.

RE: Cervical spine
Although I haven't had a fusion because it was denied I also get the dizzy spells. I can't turn my head to far and I also cannot lay flat on my back. If I do I can't get up and I don't know to many in this town well enough to call and ask them to come and get me up lol....

Bummer, I hope your appointment goes well. Please let us know what the doc says.

RE: Cervical spine
Thanks Monster.

As expected the primary tells me I need to return to the neurosurgeon.

Having a series of ESI's has been suggested both by the primary and hand surgeon.

My primary relates all my symptoms to problems with C-6, the last nerve conduction test I had also showed problems with C-6.

THe ACDF done last year was of C5-6, Is this normal to already have problems with C-6? The last MRI showed hypertrophy with C-5 that was not there after the surgery.

The primary says he has never seen thumbs as bad as mine, he asked if I ever operated a jack hammer, laughing!

The last two day I have been doing much better.

RE: Cervical spine
Okay Jayne translate please!

Probably not something I want to hear but I would like to know if there is something out there that would prevent me from going under the knife again.

RE: Cervical spine
nope nothing that I know of....its just each time you allow them to put screws in it weakens your bones and allows the next set to go down you get it fixed and the next set goes down....women have weaker bones due to osteoprosis as we age
