RE: Back Injury
(03-19-2012 03:27 PM)jeepstang Wrote: I dont have a 401k i have a union retirement fund i am vested in, and until this all comes to a head you cant just make an early exception to the union retirement they want it to be a final deal type thing, the union also has a way of helping financially up to 6 months, which is the exact time that workman's comp paid me, almost as if to say , "six months are up and so are your options" now i have to have a conciliation to see if it can go before a judge in the meantime i got a second opinion and they don't see any way the nerve is being touched by the herniation , the MRI shows the disc all dark and bulging but not to the nerves. Now they think the nerve in front of the hip is compromised and gave me neurontin for a try if that doesn't work which it seems to not be, then they can try an injection to the nerve itself. In the meantime i have to twiddle my thumbs and watch bills roll in. I was going to try SSI but the lawyer informed me thats if expected to be out at least a year and then it is also saying your career is over which may end up being the case but I am still trying to keep a shred of hope for going back to work. i dont know about union ret funds but a bunch of obama laws got passed for situations like this so if someone from your work is telling you this id check for myself because its your house and life i dont see how WC can stop anything if your in a union whats the difference? WC is supposed to be until your able to return to work, id also look into those laws as well if you know the laws they cant blow smoke. alot of people dont try it for themselves and they get screwed because of it.lawyers are also looking for quick money and if you dont have any coming in your more likely to settle fast, its good for all except you, the main person, so give it a look, also look up your options for medical routes you might find a better option, what the docs recommend isnt always best for you |
