Sorry for the misunderstanding after I read it again I realize what it sounded like. However I was talking about insurance companies in general. |

RE: 3 Weeks since I seen the IC dotor
While after the long wait for the approval for a discogram the IC requested that the doctor to do an EMG. This was done the past Friday (3/16/12).
The EMG doctor told me that I had a pinch nerve around L5 & S1. I will go back to the IC specialist on this Thursday to see what the next step will be. Does anyone think that surgery will be a good option for this? I have read different reviews about having surgery. At times I am in really bad pain especially when I am standing or walking for sometime. I will rate this pain as 7 or 8 from a scale from 1-10 Also the EMG doctor had rated it on a scale from 1-10 it being around 3 0r 4. I had explain to him the the pain get wrost during the day when I am on my feet and moving around. |

My personal docotor told me that since PT nor injections help then I may have to live with the pain, try meds (in which I've already tried several) or have surgery. The WC doctor told me that it would be a minimal invasive surgery with a 5% chance of failure. Does this percentage sound right? |

no, but it appears that you've had another doctor's opinion.
you can still search the web for the procedure and become aware of the complications and risk factors. you need to have an idea of the recovery time and post-operative care. an informed patient is often a help to surgeon. |
