i didn't see it as an attack but then I'm very cautious about interpreting text as negative; it's too easy to mistake.

I'm just see too many problems rushing to be solved with litigation rather than starting with information.
just too many posts complaining of attys and the legal system.

RE: at my witts end
Most of the people that work in the workers compensation group have a background in law. They're very, very familiar with the law. My nurse liason who went with me to most of my appointments (she was very nice, but I kept her on a short leash) was an RN but was working on a law degree.

I don't agree with hiring a lawyer early on, wait see how things go is the best answer. I did mention once when respondent balked on extended physical therapy that I had consulted a lawyer but had not hired one when they denied it and low and behold, all of a sudden it was approved, they had a change of heart. Three months later I did.

When talking to the insurance be very, very careful as to what you say, no leading questions, don't answer anything that sounds funny. Don't agree to anything and don't allow them to tell you to go back to work if you're not ready. If your doctor isn't treating you properly or seems to be siding more on the side of the insurance company than in your best interest then it's time to see about getting someone else.

Time to be taking care of yourself instead of trying to handle everything. Because trust me, the insurance company doesn't give a dam about you.

RE: at my witts end
We didn't have his attorney on record and never told the insurance company or anyone that my husband had one. He was on the sidelines advising if we had any questions. A couple weeks after MMI we received the notice from wc of a conference and the insurance company and their 2 attorneys were listed. It showed no attorney for my husband. Needless to say they made themselves known shortly after.

Attacked? Not my intention, so my apologies.

I do tend to get frustrated when the only answer to everything is "GET A LAWYER." How many posts are on here with people complaining about their lawyers screwing them over too?

This is not to say insurance companies care about you, but why the assumption your attorney does?

RE: at my witts end
Apologies accepted Woodlawn.

People do not always share when they have a good experience but they very much share when they have a bad experience.

I was injured 2005, my first surgery was 2006, a failed knee surgery but that did not matter to the insurance company as my medical was closed and the wc doctor decided I was at MMI although I could not walk more than a few steps without the knee collasping.

I hired an attorney received medical treatment and settled last year. I was one of the fortunate and had a good attorney.

If you have your own insurance, the go to your doc to get proof, then go to an atty. Your health comes first!
