Has anybody been on this med for stage 2 diab... I was told from the pharmacist that it may cause dizzy/light headed and possible diaria and stomach pain... I have been on now for 3 days and today I am light headed and feel weak.. I was told to try to make it through the first week until my body gets used to the med and then 2 per day..

Bill took it when they first told him he had diabetis.....dont stray to far from a toilet or you will mess your pants....they also use it for weight loss.Bill couldnt stand it....preferred the shots to the constant diarrea and stomach pain

RE: metformin 500 mg
Bronco,

I have been on Metformin 500 (although at this point I take 1500, 1 in the AM, 2 in the PM) of and on ever since I was diagnosed with diabetes back in 2005. And yes, for the first week, I had some terrible stomach cramping and diahhrea. But it gradually subsided and I have no problems with taking it now. Give it a week or so, and you probably won't have any problems either.

RE: metformin 500 mg
Today is the 8th day on it and the stomach problems are alot better.. The light headed still remains but am wondering maybee it may be somthing else.. By cutting back on the soda and creamers/sugar I have lost 4lbs.. Today I started the second pill about 5am and had to eat somthing with it.. If the light headed gets worse I will know its the pills.. I have been checking my sugar levels when Im light headed and it has been running on an average of 105, so I know its not dropping to low......Time will tell.
