You guys are good!!!
You guys are good!!!! That was my Doctor's number one question.. What is your lawer doing about this?? He needs to get on the ball!!
The Doc was shocked that I was fired... he didn't think they could do that if you had a note and was injured at work. He recommended surgery " sooner rather then later" He gave me 3 weeks to have my lawyer "straighten this out" and said that should be enough time?? He wants to manipulate and shave my bones. Princess your the only one I know on here that has a shoulder injury, I know you need to be careful what you say.. but how is your recovery going? RED1030~~ They waited from the day I reported my injury 1/13/07 untill 3/20/07 to deny my claim..and yes my temination date was the last day of my FMLA leave. Thank you for clearing up the medical billing I had wondered why I hadn't gotten anything yet!!! I did put a call into my lawyer no one called me back. I will try again monday.. SillInLimbo~~~Hello fellow Pennsylvanian.. "Kannst du Micke fange?" Any thoughts? Thanks again everyone.. Best wishes |

RE: You guys are good!!!
Isabo...in my state of New Jersey the IW is automatically paid, all medical bills are paid during the timeframe that the IC is determining eligibility. It is possible that if it took the IC from DOI to 3/20/07 you will not recieve any medical bills. I would need to research your state statues and laws. Also in our state TTD is paid after the first 7 days until eligibility is determined. Have you talked to your lawyer about this. Best of luck.
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. |

RE: You guys are good!!!
Isabo- My recovery is going ok, slow, but moving along. Im still very sore from the stim machine incident, but before that, had many pain free days. I also had the bones shaved, twice. Wonder if they needed to do that when putting the anchors in bone. Thank you so much for asking. There are a handful of us here that have shoulder injuries and have had surgery to try and repair it. The one I had last month was the second one. Hopefully it was the last one.
Good luck with your surgery. |

RE: You guys are good!!!
Princess~~ I am glad your hanging in there, I can only imagine how hard it must be to care for your child like you want to.. I hope that sounds right, I mean living with pain unable to do things.. I'm sure you do a great job !! I am sad thinking I won't be able to pick up my grandson when he comes.
StillInLimbo ~~ LOL.. well that is the only dutch saying I know!! It just means "can you catch flies" and the dutchy response is "Ya, wann sie hucke bliebe!" or "Yes, when they remain seated!"  Had to look it up online to spell it!! Most don't speak dutch anymore just the Amish.. ahhh could my Pappy rattle on... it's a dying language youns know, ain't not. ![]() Red1030~~ I hope your right! so I'll only have 2 doc's visit that aren't covered. now just need surgery!! Thanks again and best wishes |

RE: You guys are good!!!
It is hard to take care of her, but we are adjusting.....Thankfully shes not a clingon type child and can do a lot of things herself. It does get depressing at times because i miss picking her up, i miss our tight huggies, I used to rock her to sleep in my arms, it was a ritual we had. She would call it rocky and climb into my lap, and I would rock her while singing to her. (thats the only time she allows me to sing, lol any other time its NO SINGING MOMMY, YOUR VOICE IS YUCKY.) But all of this will soon be over, I have a follow up appt with the surgeon wednesday, and hopefully he will allow me to use the arm somewhat. Its been over 3 months since ive had that restriction.
Whens the baby due? |

RE: You guys are good!!!
Isabo
Driller was off for about a year after he had surgery. He wore a bone stimulator on his shoulder - he had frozen shoulder - but they did not manipulate his shoulder - he got his range of motion back through PT and them tying his arm back for 10 minutes at a time when he went in. Some of the tips he has given me to help me get ready for my surgery are (yes I go the 8th to set my surgery hopefully) Learn to wipe you butt with the opposite hand if surgery is on your domonate hand learn to wash you hair one handed and also wash your body with one hand (now if you can get help in the shower - enjoy) Learn to eat with your hand that will not be operated on (this one will be fun for me - some things I can do some things I can't) If no one will be home during the day - and you don't have water/ice in the door fridge - then you can freeze some pop bottles with water in them - this will be handy and you will have a cool drink all day. Clothes that are easy to pull up with one hand and same with shirts - loose - to come home from hospital - an button one will work great. A nice comfortable place to sleep when you get home from surgery - hubby says a recliner is best - but I am taking the couch - it looks more comfortable to me ....... lol Oh and practice opening your medicine bottles with your opposite hand than what your having surgery on - you may have to for the first week or 2. So hope that helps some with some tips on what you can practice on to get ready - oh and don't worry about your signature - I bet they can tell your injured ...... lol |

RE: You guys are good!!!
Pooh- I had to lol when you mentioned eating with the other hand. Ive had no use of arm for the last 3 months and most of last yr, and I still cant get food in my mouth very well with the other hand. I miss my mouth more than i get food in it. The kidling thinks its funny, i do to at times, but mostly its frustrating.
Pill bottles- ask for the non child proof cap, even though I have a small child, I HAVE to have these or I cant open the bottle at all. Also if you can, prepare about a weeks worth of food and freeze it. Unless you have someone else who does the cooking. Recliners are the most suggested to sleep in after shoulder surgery. I found it harder to put on a button down shirt after surgery, then one with no buttons. Im not coordinated enough with the left arm to button. I just wear oversized tshirts and sweatshirts. Also, youre going to want to use spray deoderant, its easier then a roll on. Practice brushing your teeth with the opposite hand as well. You will also need extra pillows for after surgery Benadryl cream and an antibiotic cream for the incisions. Most of the time they do itch, if the stitches have been in for more than a week, and once it starts to heal. Rotate between the 2 thru out the day. Hope some of these will help

RE: You guys are good!!!
Hi Is, sorry I don't know any Dutch our area has a lot of Polish and Hunky sayings and I'm half Italian, and half Hunky!! I absolutely love the Amish country, a friend of mine has a camp outside of Milroy that I loved going to! When I rode Dirt Bike we could put on 60miles a day out there and never cross the same trail. You live in a Beautiful area!!

RE: You guys are good!!!
Pooh and Princess ~~ Thank you for your hints and tips.. it is great to have people to talk to that have been there...
My grandson is 14 months, he and my daughter are comming for a 2 week visit in may... You can't imagine how excited I am. I haven't seen them since August. My daughter has some things in common with some of you as she is a CNA working with a hospice. She loves her job and "her" people. I can imagine she is a ray of sunshine. she has the happiest voice and contagious laugh!! I am proud.. StillInLimbo ~~ or half Hunky !!! yes I think it's pretty here too. I live in a very very small town here. It's been quite an experience for me  I had never lived in town before. The grocery, the post office, The pharmacy, the pizza shop, the bank, the flower shop, the dollar store and the bar are all in a 2 block distance from my home. The church bells go off every hour from 9-9 .. it's absolulty charming!!! There is some sort of track here too just outside of town. I lived in Utah most of my life and we used to go camping and not see another soul for weeks. We had a lake that we liked ahh the kids caught so many fish in that lake.. goodtimes!!!!
