RE: Disability Question?
yes as long as it is temporarily disabling as verified by a doctor.
it's not about treatment; getting disability requires medical verification that you cannot work temporarily. |

RE: Disability Question?
I am in Montana and have been seeing doctors for over four years now for Tarlovs disease. I now have severe depression and anxiety as well, which is hard to treat since I am allergic to most of the medications prescribed. The one that I am on currently does not improve anything, but at least it has not made things worse with other bad side effects. I am 57. I have not worked in the US long enough to qualify for any SS under the system. My ex cleared me out of all of my assets when he left. There is very little chance of me even getting interviews for employment under these conditions. Any prospective employer would take one look at me and know there was something terribly wrong and not bother to ask me back.
I am qualified to do many things. But my body does not allow me to do them at the moment, as dearly as I would love to return to the work force, as badly as I need to be able to return. My options are very few, so workers comp know that I am not malingering. As much as they would like that I was. |

RE: Disability Question?
yes, there are many workers who can no longer contribute to the work force in the traditional manner.
luckily there are other contributions that they can make. some are able to make and sell crafts especially at holiday time. some walk dogs and handle pets for those who do have to work away from home. others are able to volunteer in their local community. simple tasks like reading to the bedridden and in-firmed. the options are as varied as people's creativity. while you may not be able to earn a paycheck as you did when you were able there is an opportunity for you out there. you'll likely have to try many before you discover one that fits your situation. Happy New Year. |
