EEK, medical deductibles, co-ins
Hi All,
Well this was left out of the contract, thanks Obama. Our deductibles, co-insurance has more than doubled. Plus if you see anybody else other than your GP or eye doctor it will cost you almost double just to walk in the door. To make things worse my GP's nurse informed me today that starting Jan 1, 2012 that their office will no longer be able to inject any medication into joints. I thought that in April I would go thru the 5 shot series in my right knee to help the pain. Going to the GP would cost me $25. instead of $40. plus the deductible and the co-insurance. It gets worse in March I need annual labs drawn, starting Jan 1, 2012 our insurance will not cover any labs until the deductible is met. The labs I need cost $875., our deductible is now $1000. I know others have screamed on this forum about their deductibles going up now it's my turn. Not to mention that our monthly premium will be going up $250. a month. That will mean that our premiums has gone up $425. in less than 3 years. I don't know if we can afford medical insurance at a cost of $725. a month. |

Bodybuilder you have the same health insurance company as my family has. Our new year just started so we have not been hit the yet with the higher amount.
Under the old plan the deductible was $2,000.00 per person, I can hardly wait for the new figures! |

RE: EEK, medical deductibles, co-ins
Today I am going to join the group of people who are bitching about their insurance. We were already at a 2000 single and 4000 family deductible. Come Jan 1 we go to a 5000 single and 10,000 family deductible and my wife is a Type 1 diabetic. She spends anywhere from 800 to 1000 a month for her supplies and then there is the Endo dr bills and all the blood work. Insurance will not pay anthing untill deductibles are meet. So guess we will start shopping around for at least better coverage. I would be willing to pay higher monthly premiums if the coverage was better. But high premiums and not good coverage has got me bitching now. Does anyone on here have any suggestions on an insurance com that provides good coverage with less deductibles.

I guess in March when I need my labs drawn that I put the deductible on our credit cards. It's either that or don't eat. The worst thing is that there's no end to this. |

One thing I don't understand is that an ER visit on our plan is $100., that's the 'total' cost, you don't pay anything extra, not for ex-rays, blood work, nothing. Plus if you're admitted that amount is waved. I don't understand that at all, it's confusing keeping up with all the changes all the time, it's worse than filling out the Kansas tax return by hand. |

my insurance changed as well. Not only will I be paying approx $150 MORE a month but copays increased. If we go to a specialist the copay is double. The only good part is family max was $6,000 and its now $5,000. I already can't afford to go to the dr. I can say I do have insurance though.
