I went to the Ortho Doctor again about my knee last week. This is a non-work issue also. Now I have tried to take every measure there is to take to avoid a knee replacement. But nothing works. I took into consideration what is called quality of life with this knee, and what fits my needs. Well, it comes down to the point I want some what of a life. meaning I adjusted to my work injuries, but being held down more and more because of this knee. The Ortho said they would like to wait till I am 60 Years Old. I said no, I want my life now, not when I'm 60 and to old then. For I'm only 53. So they took more (pictures) X-rays, and wella Another bone fragment broke off and is in there, the Arthritist has majorly progressed, and the joint is totally bone on bone now. Needless to say in about 6 weeks it will be replaced. I'm not looking forward to another surgery, but I am looking forward to having some of my life back. Weight the two, and life comes first no matter what.
As for my settlement, it seems that it's still on hold, but if the other Attorney doesn't move on it soon, off to trail. But will know more latter today after I talk to my Attorney.... ![]() http://www.or-live.com/distributors/NLM/rnh.cfm?id=306 Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: Update - Ortho - Knee
Bad Boy,
I'm so sorry to hear that your knee has progressed to the point of "needing a new one". Waving my wand for you for "pain relief"! I hope all goes well with the knee, and hope your settlement gets moving too. Take care, Lilly

Bad Boy
I'm headed in the same direction you are. Went to court Tuesday to try and get wc to pay for my replacement. The judge is to give her decision in five days. Keep me informed and any information or tips you come accross on knee replacements, please share. Take care, Bummer Knees |

RE: Update - Ortho - Knee
Bad Boy...we have missed you. I see that you are on usually early in the morning, but we have missed you a lot. Thank you for the update on your medical care. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that a knee surgery is not the best way to spend a few weeks, but hopefully as you said it will give you an enhanced quality of life. Be good Be well...and come back and let us know how it all went. Make sure you take all your pain medications with this ok, and don't let the pain get out of control....sorry that sounded bossy, just concerned...love Red

RE: Update - Ortho - Knee
BB,
I know several people who have had either one or both knees replaced. All came out extremely well and they couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I know surgery is never fun but I think and hope that this one will give you the relief you need at least for that area. You are always so upbeat and I can only imagine what kind of pain you are in. Please keep us updated and hugs as well as prayers on the way to you ![]() BTW - can you get my little peeper brain out of that stinky fish you're carrying around so I can have it back, LOL? I am behind on algebra homework...
