Massachusetts Knee Injury

I was injured on the job and after a delay (5 1/2 weeks) finally started to get my benefits - My question is two fold

# 1 - There is a dispute w/my employer in respects to what is actually counted towards my average weekly wage - I was told Yes, then no, yes and as of right now it's not being included (not a lot of money but now if paid retroactively, I'm looking at close to $500) - What is the best way to approach this?

# 2 - I've been to a specialist who scheduled me out 5 weeks for another visit - I can't drive and my spouse has to work on the day I'm supposed to go to the visit (almost 200 miles round trip) - Is there a problem if I move my Dr's visit 10 days?? Taking public transportation would create a hard ship ( a bus, to a train station to another station to a 6 block walk, on crutches and a immobilizer knee brace) I don't want to raise any red flags - My fear is that someone from work might say, "hmmm...moved appointment right around the holiidays"

Am I reading too much into this??

Several times in the past I found conflicts on days the treating wc appointments were scheduled.
I would call my wc doctor's office and explain the problem. In most cases with my situation the office had no problems rescheduling the appointment. My reasons were always valid for rescheduling, one time my son was scheduled for surgery, another time was a death in the family.

Could be the office may need approval from the insurance company to reschedule the appointment.

have the employer ckeck with their insurance carrier into how wages are to be reported.
they can also contact the state work comp agency for detailed information

it's generally not a problem to reschedule medical appointment to more convenient times although delaying some appointments can delay benefits.
