So very disappointed
Hi All,
Just something I have to get off my chest. I'm just so disappointed that I can barely stand it. We had arranged to purchase a new trailer in September from a dealer in Mesa, Az. They claimed that it was ready at the factory ( a cancelled order) and that they could get it within the next two weeks. Like I said that was September. I had right knee surgery quickly because I thought we were going to Mesa for 10 days. The dealer kept putting it off, changing their story, delays, delays. We had put $1500. down on this trailer (chalet XL1935), that's alot of money to put down on a travel trailer. It was definitely suppose to arrive no later than yesterday. Well guess what, called this afternoon, next week. Well guess what, we demanded our deposit back and they agreed. I'm just so disappointed, I had looked so forward to getting this new trailer and going to Mesa, our last camping trip for this year. Now it's not going to happen. The good news is that our current travel trailer is paid off and the new one would of meant a monthly payment. What a mess and now I have to go to the tag office on Tuesday of next week and fix the tags that weren't renewed last month since I thought we were trading our old trailer in. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, Bodybuilder1958 |

RE: So very disappointed
Things always happen the way they do for a reason. As you said the one you now own is paid off.
You could still go camping right? |

It's just the adventure of a new rig, something different, something to adapt, to change. That's something we're good at, we bought a R-pod last yr that we had to sell because we couldn't sell our current paid off trailer. The modifications that we did to this day go beyond what most people would ever dream of. I remember trying for over 2 hours trying to fish a line below the shower to the queen bed using a coat hanger. It was sad to sell it at what we had paid for it. But we learned so much from that trailer, what we could do and couldn't, in just the 5 months that we owned it. Not to mention the over 2000 miles we put on it. We're still in contact with the people who bought it and they love the modifications we put on it. I'm more than certain that within 8 months we'll have a different trailer, going lighter, easier to tow will be the way to go. Just so very, very disappointed in this one not to mention the dealer who lied to us from the first phone call. |

RE: So very disappointed
I can share in your disapointment a new rig is always exciting and if a salesman gives you you a bum deal you just want to scream.....we love our camper I couldnt sleep in a pop up I am a chicken I want solid walls around me.or at least the illusion of solid walls...lol
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
