Priority confrence

Hello I have a priority confrence with the california work comp appeals board coming soon and I've tried to search online on wat it means n I have a hard time understanding exactly wat it means or entails. I don't know why I'm having one in nov and I have a qme appt in feb.. Y the confrence 1st and the qme 3 months later???? Can or will anyone help me understand wat is going on?

I would have to guess that there is an issue of "causality". In other words, it is possible that the insurance carrier is claiming that your injury is not work related and they are seeking to deny benefits. There may be another, yet separate issue as well. The notice should spell out what the IC is disputing.

A priority conference is a proceeding before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board in which the applicant is represented by an attorney and the issues in dispute at the time of the proceeding include employment and/or injury arising out of and in the course of employment.

one party or the other requested it.
certain issues qualify for priority conferences above other issues.

I had a stress claim that was caused by a hostile work environment
I quit before my employer was aware of me filing cause I had sought consul before I had quit. Ive been deposed 2 times regarding it. I also have a civil case pending also.

sounds like they have denied all or part of your claim and your atty has filed for a priority hearing on the issue of providing medical & temporary disability benefits.
all hearings require a conference to discuss the issues and try to resolve as many as possible.
after the conference the hearing can be scheduled.

Yes I've been denied of everything. It was almost a year before my current doctor released me to go back to work and my anxiety had returned. The reason y it has returned is because shortly after I quit the guy who was threatening n harrassing me was put in prison for assult n now he's out
