Plea Agreement
Just got the call. The DA and defense attorney came to a plea agreement for the SOB that killed our Grandson Vincent back in March 2010.

He is going to be sentenced on the 3rd of November at 11 AM, with aa press conference to follow after. Basically, this is what it comes down to:

20 years, with 1.5 years off for the time already spent in jail
good behavior will take another year off if he can stay out of trouble
3 years probation and registering as a convicted felon for 10 years. So that comes down to basically 17.5 years for killing a 19 month old child. Not even one year for each month he was alive.

But it will save the family from having to sit through the trial listening to all the evidence and watching the power point presentation of Vincent's injuries that the DA planned on showing. It's time to put this all behind us, as much as we possibly can and move forward.

RE: Plea Agreement
Wow!

Haven't seen this on the news yet.

Will any family member's be present at the sentencing?

Don't remember, what did the mother get with her sentencing?

Very happy you & Randy do not have to go thru the trial.

It won't bring that little boy back, sorry that he's not getting a longer sentence. But I'm grateful that your family doesn't get to view those photos.

Prayers and hugs,

RE: Plea Agreement
Its never long enough when its one of our own.. I remember about this but cant remember details, I;m glad he got what he got, it should have been a bit longer.. And am so happy you's dont have to go through the ordeal again...

My oldest nephew died in a fatal accident partialy caused by a co worker after work.. We tried our hardest to get him on vehicular man slaughter by his mis conduct with his vehicle. This went on almost a year at trial, there was so much evidence against him that the jury wasnt allowed to consider.. He basically got off scott free, the only charges that stuck was disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle and endagering lifes. He was ordered to serve 1 year prison + he sat 6 months in jail before the trial..

Angle, this gave me the chills... So sad. I hope this closure gives your family some peace so you can move forward and heal. I hope it makes it easier to hold sweet memories of your grandbaby in your heart rather than tragic memories... Bless you and your family.

Angel,
I've done my best to stay away from commenting on this nightmare you've been posting about since it's so very sensitive and involves family, but (in my opinion) I just have to say that self-made son-of-a bitch deserves more than what he was able to plea-bargain for. A long stint on Death-row before execution is what he deserves. God only knows what I would have done had it involved one of my grandchildren - but that's just me, and me only - right or wrong.

It has been said since time immemorial that "there's a reason for everything" - but it is just hard for me to wrap my own mind around that one at this time.

I am so sorry you and your family had to endure such a nightmarish ordeal.

I usually don't wish ill on people but in this guys case I totally agree. Anyone who harms a child or the elderly deserves all that they get.
