Are you seeing any new signs of recovery?
Not here...we were the last to lose jobs so I guess we will be the last to gain them... the local chicken plant lost a huge contract to supply chicken to Russia so it has about shut it down completly....we have went from a 3 shift 6 days a week plant to a 1 shift 4 days a week plant and that has hurt....the ilegals are gone and they spent the money locally in our small town since most had no car so the town is really hurting and tax base is way down....
Ranchers cant get hay so they are selling their beefs for next to nothing cuz no one wants to buy them they dont have hay either.....so you all buy beef now or get ready to pay alot for it later....Hay here is selling for 85 to 115 dollars a round bale if you can find it...people are giving away horses cant afford to feed them.its a shame.... All those who bought into that hope and change thing really got a lemon didnt they? ;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Are you seeing any new signs of recovery?
Jayne, early summer things were picking up a bit with a few new houses around my area. Employment opertunities were hitting the newspapers for many positions and careers.. But now its just here and there, alot of the construction companies that made it through the summer have laid off 90% of thier workers due to the season/winter/frost. A friend of mine is building a home across the field from me, he is doing it right by only hiring out for the well and septic/basement and of course power. He has only borrowed $10,000 and he had cookouts with friends and they have the house framed, walls and roof up. He can now finnish the rest on his own through the winter.... We are seeing alot of this happening, conserving all the costs....

Here also...they way it used to be done, neighbor helping neighbor....newlyweds in our church will buy land and the wood to frame a house and the church all gets together and puts it up it takes a few weekends but we get it done....we have a small church but all eager to help one another....I will never forget what they did for my Daddy....true Christian love for each other....we, the world needs more of that helping our neighbor out less of the envy and greed more of the love
