RE: wokers comp case
Do you mean Long Term Disability ? If so, that would be a benefit available to you if you have such coverage through your group health plan.

RE: wokers comp case
each state has their own work comp system, without knowing yours I can't answer.

P.S.
you don't have to change the font size to get an answer; standard is better.

RE: wokers comp case
it's possible your employer was referring to permanent partial disability benefits. the duration depends on the extent of impairment.
you should discuss your status with your doctor; I'm not sure the employer would have the latest information on your condition and disability status.

I think you're confused. There really is no such thing as Workers Comp Long Term Disability. There is Workers Comp disability, which CAN run for a long time (depending on your medical situation), and there is Long Term Disability, which is generally a private insurance benefit.

If you're out of work and still treating, you're likely getting TTD (temporary total disability) benefits, along with medical care. If you are rated later at MMI, the benefits will change.

Certainly, if you've recovered as much as you're going to, and have been rated MMI (maximum medical improvement), you may be on PPD (permanent partial disability), and that can often be for a lifetime.

It explains what i need to know. I am still under medical treatment the doctor said i would be getting treatment for my pain and keeping check up on my boston scientific stimulator that i had installed in aug. 2008. The doctor told me he did all that he can do that i will be delaing with this for the rest of my life.

Ok. Let me see if I can translate this. The Dr. said you'd be dealing with "this" the rest of your life - meaning the medical problem - that does not mean you'll be on TTD for the rest of your life.

Medical prognosis and benefits determination are made by two different arenas - one, the medical arena, the other, the insurance arena.

If you're still under medical treatment, and the Dr. determines that there is nothing further that can be done, you would move forward for an MMI report, then a determination of and impairment rating for PPD.
