Oldest son, 7 weeks post-op, incision infection
The incision started opening up in 4 different areas right after they removed the staples. So for the past 5+ weeks I've cleaned it, bandaged his back, it looks good for awhile then opens back up. Everything looks great except for a small spot at the bottom of his incision. Draining pus, clears up, scabs over and then back again. Third week out he had suture sticking out, had to trim that back. Well it's beginning to look like a fistula, it's small but it's on his spine. So his doctor put him on antibiotics today, trying to get him into his neurosurgeon tomorrow. Just hope they don't have to take him into surgery and do a secondary closure. Did I mention his lungs have never really recovered from the initial surgery, he still coughs and wheezes like crazy, using nearly triple the amount of meds for his asthma but that's slowly getting better.

And our roof still hasn't been replaced from the June storm, crap.

they have a black salve that will draw that poisen out without having to do the surgery....I have seen it draw out brown recluse spider bites and many more nasty things...it looks ugly but it does its job...

Never heard of any black salve. Worth a try but right now he's at the neurosurgeons office. Waiting for him to call me with what the doctor had to say. He's had a bit of a rough time with this back surgery but overall he's just thrilled that the pain is gone.

I will look into the black salve. My grandmother used to use something like that. Don't have a clue as to where she got it.

Thanks,
