Hi, sorry to hear about your situation. I live in NY and got railroaded too. I can no longer work and sit at home every day.Sad Just wondering, did they pay for the ambulance and hospital visit? Did they admit you? I really thought that using private ins could not be done if it is work related. Can you contact workers comp directly and ask some general questions. Maybe someone there could at least see that your call is on file. Sorry to hear how they are treating you, been there and do that. Stay strong. Bernie

RE: employer imtimadation
Sorry to hear of your situation Bernie57. Yes all of my medical bills are at this time being covered by the workers comp. provider. I have retained a lawyer. The point I was trying to make in my last post is that the Corp. I'm employed by would I believe rather not have to report a lost time injury, And is using a form of intimidation to punish me for getting injured, By closing me out of my retirement fund and refusing to return my phone calls or even answer my calls to my shop office mgr. and the H.R. Mgr. using an answering machine to screen there calls. I am at the point financially where I need to choose weather to pay my bill, and put food on the table for a family of 5, or pay an $900. bill to hold on to my health ins. benefits. When my weekly disability benefit is only 60% of my last years gross. And agin I believe that if I would contact my service center mgr. in person and offer to free them of the lost time injury claim, and fraudulently file a short term disability claim, They would do it because of Corporate greed. Of course there isn't any way I'll do this but I can't help but think this what they want.

WC is high on the list of places that make most people feel like they are wasted air space. Do Not take it personal. If you read through different issues you will see most of us are treated badly. HR knows your name 'from somewhere'. Drs keep track of you through a collection agency. Your lawyer forgets how to answer his own phone. These things should never be given a second thought. They are no more than head games. Your lawyer and this site are your best defences. I had 25 years in, Because I was forced to wait for surgery for 10 months my condition got worse, I'll never work again. Apply to every state agency you can think of, Food Stamps, Child Care, Student grants for your kids, ect. Do not let anyone turn you away before making out an application.
Suggestion, Buy a large but cheap calander, write everything down on the date it happened, my case ran for 5 years, it was the one thing I did right. Stay Strong. Bernie

Klug you can get into your 401k they dont like it but you can and you will lose a lot but have your lawyer look into it. I worked for the Salvation Army they also was self insured and gave me hell....but I had a good lawyer...I still believe in them still know they do the best work for every dime they get and still donate to them...but they dont treat their injured workers well at all...And come on over to off topics for a more friendly atmosphere

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
