A question, Is this related to the neck?

A question, Is this related to the neck?
I have a question about the cervical spine.

Just a brief update on the neck injury.

ACDF of C5-6 was Feb 14, of this year, every month I see a little improvement although I still have periods of high pain.

This week the pain levels have been high, top of shoulders, back of neck, right arm nerve pain.

Yesterday I was moving some things in my booth at the flea market, nothig heavy but some awkard and over the head work placing a shelf on a wall mount.

The pain started increasing shortly after I got home, top of the shoulders and neck was worse and left arm. Been up since 1:00 am using the tens unit, pain meds.

Today I have limited use/movement of the (other) left arm and can not rotate it in, lots of elbow pain, sharp pains in th wrist & hand.

My Question: Is this sounding like a new injury or problems from the neck.

The neck injury is not part of work comp, I was able to keep it out of the claim.

I know I should not have moved things around but the Bummer is stubborn.

Bummer sounds like more neck related pains,,after my first cervical fusion c5-c6. I contined to have pain as you are describing, then later had to have them go back and they removed 2 more dis. It was the disc above and below the previous fusion, so now they are all fused together. c4-c5-c6- and c7 with one big arse plate attached with like 8 screws in it and i still have neck, shoulder and arm pain.

Cervical Fusion 2003, c5-c6. Herniated and damaged Disc L1- L4-L5 S1. Lumbar Spinal Cord stimulator implant 09-2008. Cervical ACDF revision with hardware c4-c5-c6-c7 Sept 2009.

Thank you for answering CF

I just wasn't for sure on this. According to the neurosurgeon I no longer have pressure on the spine and he dosn't know why I continue to have the pain I experience. My primary also an osteopath says I likely have perm nerve damage.

What I do not like about this is what the pain is doing to the BP, not good.

That ws when i started the BP meds.

Been talking to Bodybuilder about the neck issues and the BP, she suggest I talk to my doctor about medication.

Normal BP for me is 80/60, yesterday it was 156/110.

RE: A question, Is this related to the neck?
My BP did drop yesterday after using the tens unit to 136/? don't remember the bottom number.

The class I am taking this semester is office 2010 and we just started the excel program working on speadsheets.

I am pretty good with accounting and like working with numbers but those days the pain is up, well nothing makes sense and I just can not think. Not wanting to do the homework on the high pain days has put me behind with this class.

Jayne that is about what Dennis is saying but I do not want to drop the class. I will try and stick it out and see how it goes.

I will be starting physical therapy Oct 10th and will be having therapy for three week to help reduce the pain levels.
