I found out from my neighbor that there had been a car parked around the corner for most of the morning one day several months into my WC claim. It was an SUV with dark tinted windows. My neighbors are retired so they are home most of the day every day. My neighbor ws concerned so he approached the SUV and asked what they were doing. They told him they were watching me and asked if he knew anything about me. His response was "well I know she was injured at work, and you won't be here for long, she is the most boring person I know." How funny is that?!?! I am in NM

RE: How easy is it to spot private detectives?
Im not going to pretend to know how often this happens, Work Comp is a new animal to me. But, I did have a PI following me for a short time (that I was aware of anyway). He was VERY easy to spot. He parked right across the street from where I live, followed me every time I left and I even caught him taking pictures of our building.
At first it was a bit unsettling to know I was being watched. My first thought was also to call the police, but I knew he was with the insurance company and I had nothing to hide... Im not cute enough to be stalked for real Realistically I knew he wouldn't hurt me in any way. I let him get his pictures. I encouraged it in fact. In the end I figured it would only help my case because I always stay within my restrictions. I even made jokes that I was stalking my stalker, I made a game out of finding him. Then I would cry dramatically when he wasn't out there... "why won't my stalker stalk me, boo". I know they aren't stalkers, they are just doing their job, but the laughter helped make a somewhat awkward and uncomfortable situation better... Good luck to you! |
