Thanks Sweet-tooth.....

I want to thank everyone for the prayers, as always the power of prayer prevails.... I'm not out of the woods yet, but feeling pretty close to normal.. I am set for a simple incision in the morning to keep things draining. After that if all is well I will be home tomorow night. I will still be on I'v antibiotics for 2 weeks, which either the home nurse or my wife can administer. The DC planner is trying to set up blood draws and wound dressing while my wife is at work, so I am covered around the clock..



I have had issues with one nurse, ignoring my call light and denying me help to bathroom. The number 1 issue was my wound cleaning, I was about to take shower as directed by dr 4/day and then wound cleaning to follow. 7:30 am I requested she get me a clean towel and wrap my pic line. She said when she finds time. 30 min goes by so I buz her again, never comes, breakfasst showed up so I ate and filled out my menu fot tomorow... Ok now I am mad, now its time for a (bm) I buzz her back again its been 1 1/2 hours a different nurse shows up and I tell her I have been waiting and now I have to #2, I explained I need my ankle cuffs off (to prevent blood clots) ... Oh Im going to get your nurse, almost 2 hrs and she walks in and said are you ready to get your wound cleaned.. I replied your going to have shutt from here to china if you dont......................

2nd time my wife was here when I asked for a new gown and tape my pic... Nurse yells and said you dont need 4 showers, I took one anyways and while I was in there my surgeon came in to see me...My wife dont take no bull from no one and told surgeon what happens when that nurse is on...... After he checked me he said he had some oss chewing to do and new orders..... I have not seen that nurse since....................

Bronco I had that type of treatment when I was at the Spine Hospital when I had the cervical surgery, bunch of bull!

Couldn't get a nurse to assit me, had to call hubby to come to the hospital and get a nurse to help me into the bathroom. Good thing hubby was only a couple of blocks away as he had gone to Wendy's Resturant to get me something to eat.

I hope you get to getting better and don't have to deal with that bs for to long.

I am glad your wife is there. I recall when I was in the regular hospitals. Everytime, there was a problem. My wife got so pissed she was steaming. She wound up bringing me meals and raised havoc with the incompitent staff everyday. Heck one night (morning) the morphine pump machine would not stop beeping. After an hour and a half of call the staff every 15 mintues. I had, had all I could take. I managed to get out of bed and unplug the machine and put it outside the room door. That was not one of my better moved. While doing it, I ripped the stiched open. My doctor was not happy that I had removed the needle from my arm and put the machine outside the room.

For some reason, after that. The service improved drasticlly.

Anyway, I hope you get better soon.

It seemed my last night took forever to get over. About 2 am my neighbor was screeming help, I couldnt get disconected from the leg air pump and the nurses were ignoring her.. I put my light on and was ignaored as well, so I clamped my iv line and made the alarm go off.. They came rushing in and I told them to help the lady screeming... They said she has anxiety and does this all the time.... I was mad as all heck, and informed them why I take fluoxitine, I said you need to calm her down and not ignore her...

Today we recieved a call from the hospital, asked about the problems I reported. She says one bad nurse makes them all bad and she will be dealt with.. I couldnt name the nurse incharge of the lady but told her to investigate the night crew....... I informed my wife and parents unless I'm dying bring me to marshfield or madison..
