No Surgery
Hello friends. So I go to my Second Opinion IME today. The Doctor I saw is a Neurosurgeon. I give him all test results from injury(MRI,EMG,) he reviews the CD/disc from the MRI and tells me he would not recommend surgery. I ask him "well what about my pain in my back, legs, hip and rear end" and he says that I should ask the Ortho Doctor I see to recommend a Facet Block and Flexion/Extension Xrays. Question- what if my Ortho Doctor does not order/recommend these Neurosurgeons recommedations, does this mean my case is done? I am all ears for any knowledge, information and advise on this thread please. Thank you friends.

RE: No Surgery
if there are no more recommended treatments available then yes your recovery is pretty well over.
there will likely be additional benefits available based on your impairment rating. |

RE: No Surgery
Don't be in any hurry for a back surgery. They can make you worse off and in more pain. Do your homework and good luck

Its really twisted because the Neuro doc said that he doesn't recommend surgery now, he does recommend I return to work. I guess they have there reasons. I have mixed thoughts on what the Doctor said yesturday. I'm glad he thinks I dont need surgery, but on the other hand I want to be fixed. So I hope I do have other options before they rate my disability. |

RE: No Surgery
I had always hoped a surgery would help take the pain away but then decided I might just be better off without it. It's a hard thing to deal with when you come to decide your pain may never get better.

I just dont want the IC to get the Idea nothing is wrong with my back based on 2 Sergeons saying I dont need sergury. P.S. 1171, I'm sorry and need to correct myself. I meant to say that it seems twisted because the Neuro surgeon said I dont need surgery now, but he does NOT, I repeat does NOT recommend I return to work. Sorry for confusing the forum. Now, I am starting to think not though. I just get so tired of the pain and the whole thing of dealing withu WC. I guess just like you and all the rest of us here at the forum want closure to the evil world of WC. |

RE: No Surgery
One thing WC does is make you tired of fighting and hope you will just go away. They do this to get away with paying you as little as possible. This also helps them with the few folks out there that are just trying to get some cash out of them but those in true daily pain stick it out because what else can we do? For me I will be in pain the rest of my days and with have to deal with wc for that time.

RE: No Surgery
This is so true M2! It gets really tiring, but I will not give in to the WC system..I will never stop fighting this until I am fixed. These people know Im hurt and obviously thats why they have not denied me..yet. Like you said they just want us to just go away, but I'm not. So I guess I will have to deal with the games and delays also until the end.
