recipe for homemade gator-aid
for those of you in this heat wave we need to stay hydrated but I cant afford the hi cost of sports drinks here is how to make it your self...you can make it any flavor you want but you need to find a flavor in a cheepo drink mix Kool aid doesnt taste real well for some reason I use wylers and the kids love it...
1 envolope unsweet wylers drink mix
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp salt sub
1/4 sugar
1/4 corn syrup
(For Bills I use his sugar sub for both of the above)
2 tsp lemon juice
water to make 2 qts....

also if you have a dog out side...please dont forget them....put ice in their water give them cold treats....and run a sprinkler in the hottest part of the day..if you dog gets to hot here is a dog pedialyte recipe
1 cup water
1/8tsp salt
3tsp sugar
boil till disolved cool this can be kept in fridge for up to 5 days...
I know some people dont want dogs in their houses but this heat wave is a killer...think twice water several times a day.....

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

Thanks jayne, I will have to try it but I must admit I thought there was going to be a catch from that subject. And my dogs are part of the family the sleep in the same bed at times.

I will try this. I don't like those drinks but can handle the powerade zero over ice to water it down. It is so freak'n hot where I work. They do provide bottled water but you get tired of it. Yesterday we got popsicles. You would of thought we were 7yrs old and heard the music from the ice cream truck. Lol. Heat index has to be 120° plus in my area. Recipe is greatly appreciated!

Dog are spoiled. I Freeze water bottles and put them in their water....and its inside. Lol. They get fresh cold water in their pool daily to play in. I will still try the dog recipe for them and the kitty's. Smile

We also freeze the two liter pop bottles for our pets.

The 4-H fair is this week, the council let 4-Her's take theri non-market animals home early from the fair. The high temps was placing them at risk.

The weather is good in my country. The highest it has been was in the low 90's and that was only for a day or two. Am I going to feel all this heat you are all talking about... ??? wow I hope not...

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
