So the first day off of work (put back on medical by employer) Liberty Mutual offers a settlement (to low, would not cover my meds for 2 years). I turned it down, fast forward a month later no payments and the IC nor my employer will return my calls or emails. I have not heard from my attorney either, he wanted me to take the first offer and close the case. I spoke to other lawyers in Michigan and they also thought it was low for the codition that I have. My lawyer doesn't even want me to apply for SSD he says I am to young. Now what do I do?

RE: Now what in Michigan?
Thanks, I would love to find a job, I could go back to my old job if I didn't have the restrictions. I have been working since I was 14 years old, I am not looking for a hand out. I have never been without a job longer than 2 months. So no I am not some welfare seeking chick. I had a crush leg injury that resulted in massive soft tissue and nerve damage. I have RSD. I was making over $100K before the injury and highly sought after. So this WC will surely not replace nor come close to that. So if I could work I would be working to provide for me and my child, as I have the last 20+ years.

RE: Now what in Michigan?
thanks for the additional information --you didn't put any of that in your post and that's not something that can be assumed.
are you asking for more ideas? contact your union, they often can supply temporary help for members in an emergency. if you need retraining or other skills to find a new occupation contact vocational rehabilitation http://www.michigan.gov/wca/0,1607,7-191...--,00.html contact your local church and service clubs; they often have resources to aid those in need. your county is another sources of information and help with housing, medical, and food for those in need. |

RE: Now what in Michigan?
Thanks I will look into this. I was in management and do not have union representation. I do have a degree in business management (supply chain management). I am hoping to go back to work if I can get the pain down and my ability to walk longer. I am currently on lyrica, vicodin and opana 40mg, so it makes it a little hard. I am still blessed they were able to save my leg, I had degloving with the crushed leg. I believe they are trying to force me to take the offer, but it will not cover my meds. I did receive an email from my HR this afternoon, they stated they were trying to get in touch with the IC. They also stated I wouldn't have to wait on payments 1 1/2 months ago. They machine was assembled backwards by my company, that crushed my leg.

RE: Now what in Michigan?
workers comp is not based on civil negligence law; you don't need to prove fault.
