Injured my back at work in April, 2004. Had 3 ESI injections under x-ray guidance in 2004, 3 months PT 2004, MRI showed disc herniation with S1 nerve impingement. IME doctor said I was fine and reached MMI work comp closed my case I had to hire attorney go to hearing and won 100% in court. Work comp made me wait 10 months for 1st surgery in severe pain. Sept, 2005 Microdisectomy l5-S1, 3 months PT, Pain meds, Tens Unit. Nov, 2005 MRI showed re-herniation. 2 more epidurals. Still severe pain. TRans caudal epidural, Nerve Blocks, Trans-foraminal epidural- Still pain. Discogram showed L4-L5 severely degenerative with tears and leakage and concordant pain. Scheduled for Anterior/Posterior Fusion with Instrumentaion on Nov 1, 2006. 6 Months PT. Pain management, Neurologist last week with EMG shows nerve damage. I have severe burning pain in feet, legs, back and moving to arms and hands now. I still have lower back pain. The fusion helped my sciatic leg pain only. Work comp want to send me to a Chronic pain program next month for evaluation. I will reach MMI on Nov 1st. Surgeon wants a Functional Capacity evaluation done now.

How did your husbands hearing go? You can PM me if you would like to keep it private. I understand that some people just might not want to put their business on here. This request is only if you would like to share what happened. For some reason I did not know that you had this going on on the 31st. I sure pray that things went well for both of you.

neck injury, low back and sacro illeac now involved as well as both hips, left knee injury. Have no idea where I'm at as IC made me change all docs and I haven't seen anyone since mid March. Have appt with new ortho doc in mid Sept. Have had no surgeries, only epidurals, nerve blocks, plenty of steroids as well as trigger point injections (had 18 in one day once, 10 in neck and shoulder area and 8 in lower back...was afraid to take a drink of water for leaking everywhere, LOL. Guess if I had of spun around real quick I could have watered the grass, LOL Can no longer take meds, liver and or pancreas is now involved as well. Am trying to learn to live with the pain but I am having quite a few 'down' days where I am in bed alot Am retaining a positive attitude though with the help of all my family here. Thanks guys

Tweety...Don't have much to update. But will just give a little info so everyone knows alittle about my situation. Shoulder surgery summer 2005..got RSD right after surgery. RSD affects pretty much my whole upper body. I have a spinal cord stimulator. Have taken so many medications trying to get my pain under control. Currently WC is just making my life a living nightmare...I have had so much going on...from IME's.. no money..they refuse to do any treatments requested by my Dr's..refuse some medications refills..waiting for a hearing date. Just doing what I have to and praying that it will all work out. I know I haven't posted as much...just to much going on then the pain....it can be more then I can handle on a given day. But like I have always said...we will all get through this....we just have to stick together. Thanks for wanting to know how we are all doing.

I have a dominant arm shoulder injury from a work accident. Had anterior stabilization, shoulder froze, had an MUA, still froze, had arthroscopic surgical release and bone shaving.... still froze. I took over 130 PT treatments. MD calls it severe arthrofibrosis. I'm at MMI, still sleeping on sofa, currently in voc rehab with zero results so far. WC offered settlement (not enough$$) Work hardening to start soon. Now they are playing games with my pain medicine and I'm getting jerked around on my refill for one of my meds. I am hurtin for certain! Went through the withdrawals....and no one seems to shive a get! My MD is now trying to help me straighten it out. Please God, let it happen today!

Hi All...I am new here so thought this looked like a good place to post.
I was injured in a warehouse where I worked in sales as I was passing through to a mail machine. Someone on a forklift in the opposite aisle knocked boxes from the top shelf and one hit me mid to upper back. I continued to work for a couple weeks in a lot of pain but while working overtime on a Saturday helping to restock shelves my lower back "went out" and I had terrible shooting sciatica pain. I was out of work incapacitated went to the hospita to be checked and eventually was sent for MRI's which showed herniated disks. L-4/L-5/S1. I went though therapy etc. but when it did not improve I had a laminectomy in Jan of 2002. In the meantime all of my complaints obout the pain in my neck, upper back and shoulder went by the wayside even after an MRI showed I had several herniated disks. I had no treatment at all to my neck until a doctor finally ordered therapy in Dec. 2006. I have not worked since the injury and spend most days laying on my side with heat and ice and suffering from terrible headaches.
I am currently collecting WC and also was approved for SSDI. I was given an IME by the IC in January and he wrote that none of my problems are work injury related, that I have DDD, and that I would be like this even if I had no injury. So, now I am going through conciliation hearings, a vocational training test and will be having my own IMe tomorrow...because my own treating doctors words are not good enough. I have paid out over 1,000 in doctors reports, 600 in appeals and I get so mad about this whole system! PLUS..the freakin van parked outside my house filming me...arghhh.
