Todd was taken back into surgery about 20 minutes ago.

A blood clot was found this morning.

My husband and Lori are in Todd's hospital room waiting for news.

I will post when I have news.

The doctor just came in with the news, Todd lost the new kidney as it wasn't getting blood flow and the kidney had to be removed.

Todd was taken from recovery to dylasis, he has been there for 3 hours.

His daughter-in-law is with him, she is an RN who is charge nurse for the transplant unit.

I received a phone call a short time ago, Lori is loosing blood. It took the IV team almost an hour to start an IV to prepare her for a transfusion.

Once she is stable she may be taken to surgery with the doctor's trying to findout why she is loosing blood.

I am told Todd is doing well today.

Sorry my friend in more than one way. I'm sure that the stress is nearly overwhelming for all. Prayers definitely. A clot is not that common but unfortunately it does happen. Hopefully he'll get another kidney soon. Hopefully for Lori the bleeding will stop.

Hubby & I went to WIchita tonight and saw Lori & Todd.

Lori is looking a little better since the transfusion. Still do not know the reason for the blood loss.

Things were pretty rough for her today, her saturation levels were low resulting in her being on oxygen most of the day. Hubby left work this morning and stayed at the hospital most of the day. He said there were so many people working on Lori today, the room was cleared out making room for equipment & medical staff.

Lori will have a chest x-ray at 11:30 along with additional test and again at 6:00 am.

A good thing has come out of all of this......several phone calls were received at the hospital by individuals who know the family requesting to be tested to see if they are a match in being a kidney donor for Todd.
